Ok the time has come that my 00 Escalade has to go....so now I am on the fence regarding what to get. I am either going with a 02-06 Escalade or 03-06 Navigator. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Any details or comparision would be nice....Which has more power? Better ride? Better braking?

Thanks in advance!

BTW what can I get for my 00 Escalade with 130K, Bose am/fm cd with factory changer in console, on star, billet grill, husky front, rear and cargo heavy duty floor mats, heated mirrors, etc, etc? Then the following has all been done within the last 8k: Complete tune up, brakes front and rear, radiator, belt, Bosch battery, Delphi fuel pump, K&N, Bridgestone Revo AT2's, idlers and pitman arm, 2 outer tie rod ends and every single component of the A/C system minus the front evaporator.

Also will include a bunch of misc accesory's including brand new wipers, Iridium spark plugs, fuel filter, pcv valve, SuperChips Flashpaq and whatever else I can find.

Truck is very reliable, I use it for work EVERYDAY and it never let me down. Ive had it for several years and before that it was owned by my mother for about 5+ years.

I meant asking about a Ford in a GM forum, not about the price silly. :)

Back in the day I rented a few Navis from those years, nothing wrong with them tbh, but the NBS trucks are so much prettier imho ... if I had to choose a truck from those years it'd be the 05 or 06 Denali. I think that was the best design of all on that body style.

I leased a pre-owned 99 back in 03 (I think) with 70K while my parents just got this 00 Escalade with about 20K. Let me tell you my Navi had more bawls, ten times better braking, smoother ride, more mpg, hugged the road (then again I had mine dropped a bit) and much more reliable. And that was the original body style.

I need to go drive each one and go from there.....

Been getting hazzed @ work for looking for "such an old truck" and "looking for a headache"....that's where my comment stemed from....

My wife's '11 navigator has been in the shop more than on the road all the while my gm vehicles have never been in the shop. I'll never buy a Lincoln again.

IMHO you get good and bad in all of them. Ford, Chevy, they all have issues specific to them, most of which result from a lack of regular maintenance, etc. There are those lemons out there that are never right.

As for which is "Better", that is an opinion based question and in the end it is up to what makes you all tingly inside when you are sitting behind the wheel.

Good luck finding a good one regardless of what you choose.

IMO... The 03-06 Navigator interior is ****... Up to 07 gm interiors were all the same and crap. Anybody can claim they've had a new car in the shop but I know a lot of people that do that are just unrealistic complainers. They purchase a car then later decide they really wanted something else so they pick apart the car they have in hopes to get the lemon law. I've found 03-04 navi's for 8-10 grand down here with less than 75k. But honestly you know what you want, just find that deal you can't pass up regardless of what it is.

Thanks for the info....What year the Navi's change after the "03-04" body style? I too seen a few low mileage ones in the same range....Then I seen a few with the same mileage for about 12K that were showroom mint! Well according to the pics that I seen anyway.

I surely havent ruled out the Escalades yet but they seem to be harder to find with low miles and about 3K more for same year/mileage.

I think it was 07 when the body style changed but the interior stayed basically the same. I'm pretty sure the 04 is when they went to the 6 speed tranny and revised 5.4 heads. I'm sure resale value is a little worse on the gator but a lot of the ones I've seen are owned by older couples instead of people trying to pimp them out. My friend has the Mark LT and its a super quiet plush ride. They are hard To find but the dark grey ones with black leather was what I was looking for

Yeah, down south (texas/florida) seems these trucks (any year) sell for much less then here in the tri state area, then there are 2wd models which are another 1500-2500 less.....A few trucks that I found with low mileage all were in those two states....But I am not about to lose a few days work, pay for a plane ticket then 300 gas and tolls to get it back here. Then again having an out of state car may be well worth it. I have to see......IDK
