Okelydokely, thanks guys.

I'm trying to hook up with a friend of a friend to take me to a couple of 'dealer only' auctions in a couple of weeks and see what's up on that front. From what I know one can get pretty amazing deals there but might have to go a few times before the vehicle one wants pops up.

Yes serge I think they are the AC seats. They are awesome I love having them. They didn't start putting it in the Denali until 2009 also. My friends got an 08 and he doesn't have it :/

I'll sell you my 09 Denali... a little less than 17k miles (I believe, haven't been in it in 3 weeks). Black on black, AWD. Clean title, no accidents, dealer serviced, got it CPO with 5k on it in May '10.

AC/heated seats, heated steering wheel, Nav, moonroof, MBRP exhaust on it right now (but still have stock exhaust), BB tune/Autocal included, side blind zone alert, DVD, backup cam, power lift gate, rear seat heaters, power folding rear seats, power front seats... basically everything except for the power running boards and 2 way remote. I'm sure much more I don't remember, just ask.

Depending on where you are/when you need it, I could drive/deliver it for a charge.

See this is what I saw the other day and mean about the difference in finish between the power assist steps and the rest of the side chrome:

It might indeed be because it angles down and reflecting the grey ground, but I'm also wondering if it isn't also stainless steel as opposed to chrome, hence the variation.

I must admit it's making my ocd twitch a little.

I never read what you write. :)

I guess I missed it ... I wonder why it isn't chrome?
Maybe to protect it from the road ... but the regular denali boards have chrome trim at the edges.

I'm thinking GM cheaped out here.

Chances are its a third party vendor. The chrome in the Denali boards faces outward. The trim on the power boards faces down. I'm sure with the front wheels shooting rocks and whatnot toward the bottom of that power board, stainless was the way to go. The chrome would just chip.

I don't think GM cheaped out.. There is a just reason for it. ;)

Mmm I dunno, the oval boards that I just took off and sold were on the truck for almost a year ... after I washed them and windexed them the chrome was spotless and exactly the same underneath as above. Chrome, if applied correctly, is very resilient to the elements ... in fact probably more so than stainless steel, or at least just as much.

Thought those oval boards were aluminum? They were chrome plated? Maybe that's why GM doesn't offer them as a factory upgrade?

Just used it once before I bubble wrapped them to ship 'em.

I'm guessing/hoping that won't damage them.

Ammonia based products are not good on any anything but windows and I wouldn't even use it on my car windows. You should be fine though.
