Hi all!

I've been lurking for the past week seeing what you've done with your Tahoes. I'm picking up my 2011 LT/Summit White/Black Leather/Lux/Tow/Sunroof right before Christmas.

Excited to do my first few mods to the car. Give me suggestions what I should do first! Esky 3rd brake light? Exhaust? Matched tint?

No stranger to modding cars, here's a picture of my garage car, a 2008 BMW M5.

Look forward to learning from you all and making my Tahoe my own.

Alan

OMG Felixgun you sold that beautiful ** !!!

Had to... moved to Colorado and was in need of 4WD :(

Alan, if your ride is going to be chrome-trimmed... I would definitely add the Escalade roof rack, third brake light, tails/appliques, and 09+ LTZ door side mouldings... it changes the whole look of the car!! It could look a LOT like this... and I could live vicariously through you :)

Welcome on Alan. I say you do all the mods you listed right now all at once with the addition of the Esky rack like Felix said.
Might as well start ordering parts right now too. So the first weekend after you get it you can spend the day in the driveway installing them and listening to the wife scream at you.

LOL. Good idea on ordering the parts before the Tahoe is in the driveway. Shoot us some before and after pics too Alan!! :Handshake:

I sold my 325iT Sportwagon to get the Yukon and have not regretted it yet. And I still have my Beemer in the garage, R1200RT. :)

09+ LTZ moldings came on 09+ Denali's too. 07-08 Denali's are "Ribbed" and aren't as smooth and flat as the newer ones. Here is my friend's 08 Denali truck with the ribbed side moldings:

here is a better picture of my tahoe with the side moldings:

Huge difference in real life. So much so my friend with the Denali truck ordered some newer side moldings after seeing mine and it looks MUCH better.

So the chrome part is the same, the chrome and moldings are one piece or separate?

Is it a pain to take that off?

Thanks felix

No prob! I'm not sure that you could use your existing chrome trim for the 09+ LTZ side mouldings. On the newer ones the chrome trim snaps into the color matched part. If you google "nordstrom's auto" you can give them a call and order it for $150 shipped. They are already painted but even if they don't have your color that price is dirt cheap. It's cheaper then if you got them from a dealership unpainted black. No it's not. It's super easy. It's only stuck on there with 3M.

Thanks for the warm welcome all.

No chrome for me, one of my goals in looking for my Tahoe was no chrome package. Just like my M5, all black trim, no chrome.

Will probably try to get rid of the chrome on the front grill somehow.

So it looks like the Escalade third brake light is pretty much plug and play. That will probably be first.
