IIRC he dremeled out the "speaker grill" in the trim panel, and that's an MTX Thunderform. Can be had for about $300 all over the place, that's with the MTX sub.

Omar, where'd you go, dammit? We want to know if there's any rattle the way you did it, also where'd you relocate your jack to?

The stock jack can easily be placed under the hood by drilling 1 hole and a couple bolts with nuts. On my 99 sierra i moved mine with ease...to the passenger side at the firewall above the wheel well. no pics sorry...sold the truck months ago.

Sorry guys! Haven't been on in a while!

So far, no rattles! Now, if I listen to something with ALOT of bass, like some old school Beastie Boyz's Brass Monkey, I will get *some* rattle at high volume. But other than that kind of extreme, it's pretty rattle-free.

It is a 10" MTX subwoofer. I bought it with an internal 200 watt amp, and the amp had line level inputs. I got it for $389 shipped from here:

http://www.supercrewsound.com/commerce/product.jsp?prodId=193&catId=73

Looks like the price went up a little.

As for the speaker hole, I just went to GM and bought a new panel. If you select 2002 and color match, you will get the actual "grille" cut out in the plastic as opposed to being filled in.

I'm thinking this is the route I'm going to go. At least Supercrew offers the unloaded option for that box. Was also thinking I'd just cut the whole factory panel out and install a "custom" grille in front rather than ordering a new panel. And by custom I mean just a plain jane speaker grille that is color matched to the panel.

Oh I am definitely liking this set-up with not having to sacrifice seating space, I'm sure this would fit the 06 Denali also. I will start looking around for this custom box for my trk. Nice find

Damn MTX website shows 01-06 Yukons and specifically states (not denali). Just when I thought I found the perfect find

nothing to serious.

Not like that anymore the plexi came off, went with suede like the rest of the interior, and the amps are mounted on the face of the box. So when you opened the back gate you would see the 4 amps i have.

Wow, what power do you have to run those? A mini fuel cell in the dash?

So, does anyone keep their third row? I want to keep mine but not sure what to put back there that would fit but still beat down the block...

I built one for a customer last year for three 12" subs behind the third row.

This is exactly what I want for mine. I have a sub box in mine currently and I hate it. It allows me to keep the 3rd row but not have storage space that I need. Fortunately the 3rd row isn't critical yet as the kids are young but I definitely want to get this done before too long.

haha. i have 2 memphis 2500 watt amps for the subs and 2 500 watt amps for the mids. I think hell i havent looked at my equipment in so long.

I have 12 sets of mids. 4 sets in each front door and 2 sets in each back door

it jams pretty good.

I still have lots of room, never felt the need for the 3rd row since I haul crap around and need space for the dog

Yeah makes sense. The whole reason I bought the Tahoe was the third row. We almost always have people with us and had a sedan for that. Now that we have kids though the need will come for the third row. I don't need it today but in a year or so I will for sure. So when I upgrade my stereo (hate the amp/subs it came with when I bought it) I will be moving them into each of the side panels like OmarR did.
