Thats how my silverado is. Even worse with an exhaust, no only can you feel the flip between 4 and 8, and can hear the tone and rumble change

When I had my Envoy Denali a few people on Trailvoy deactivated their system so it will run in V8 only. Gas mileage in the city was about the same. Highway mileage dropped 1/2 mpg.

I've noticed that mine stays at 4cly in town when going 30 on a flat surface and going 55 or under on a flat surface on the highway. The problem is you won;t catch me doing either! HAHA!!!

I wish there was a software mod you could do to make it stay in 4 cyl mode more often. I would sacrifice a little power for a little better fuel economy.
The best way that i have found to keep it in 4cyl mode is to get up to a speed for like 10 seconds, then let off the gas a little until your speed drops a couple miles per hour, then hold it there at the reduced speed.

I heard on the Envoy forum that you can tune it to make it stay on more but a tune cancels your powertrain warranty. Of course my Yukon Denali it doesn't have that feature. I guess if you drive it like a hybrid max mpg owner than you can get decent gas mileage with it. Pulling a 3 ton brick already tasks the engine, even at a decent highway speed.

If it stayed in 4 cyl longer it'd tax your motor much more and therefore wear it out quite a bit faster. Also, the attempt to get better mpg would be counterproductive cuz it takes more fuel for a 4 banger to get our behemoths up to speed than it does the full 5.3 L!

And you don't drive different with the diablosport installed? That's a pretty large gain from just the one mod....
