i've being getting a lot of practice painting friends cars so this one came out real good with the exception of some dirt in the paint but thats expected since i got to leave the doors open but the wet sanding will take care of that

yea i tried painting a few small body parts on my old bmw which i was fairly happy with being my first time really painting. I'm gonna try to practice a little more before i try painting my 71 blazer this summer.

did you tape the edges so you would not sand through? looks awesome btw

yes youi tape the edges to avoid sand through and keep all the compound from getting in all the nooks and crannies saves time on cleaning up

you might wanna search the lowrider forums Ive seen that gas door idea on some older cars and on some hondas from back in the early 90's I think there was even an article in sport compact car in the mid 90's doing that mod to a prelude or something like that.

before i did the mod i did research and found plenty of old chevy's and some ricers with the mod and i think i seen one yukon on cardomain but the hinge was at the bottom and i didn't like that so, i went in blind folded and just played with it till i got it right, if i was to do it again i could do it in about an hour real simple
