How did you run the wires into the truck? Just wondering what might be the best way to do it.

where are you mounting the camera?? I have the flushmount installed in the keyhole for the back glass and ran the wires with the tail lights wires at the top of the rear hatch.

So, is your keyhole button still operational to open the back glass? Got any pics of it?

with the rca cable that came with my camera, i'm going to have to run the wires from the camera up maybe behind the rubber weather seal right below the door handle of the liftgate.

i'm thinking about trying to either mount the camera on the license plate or right above it on top of the bumper, or maybe down by that void in the trailer hitch.

this is the one i bought. the same seller also sells a 3.5" monitor that can go in that cubby hole also.

i tested it out and it seems to work good so far. i'll know more after i get it mounted permanently and expose it to everyday use.

yeah, i'm anxious to start getting some use out of it. it'll help when backing up and there is a car behind you.

No problem, too bad the button isn't operational anymore, that would be cool!! If you get around to getting a pic of it and have time to post it up, that would be cool as well!

That's one of the places I've been pondering on installing mine! Can you take a pic of it with the lift gate open and up, I'd like to see how you installed it?

yup, here are a few more pics.

I cut out a little notch for the wire, but you could probably just notch out the weatherstripping if you wanted to.

I then lined it with a piece of rubber innertube to protect the wire.

I ended up wiring it to the cigarette lighter outlet in the back, so it's on all the time. I'm not completely sold on that part yet, as I'm not sure how much of a draw it'll be on the battery to be on all the time.

^ i like that area.
my truck came with one but it's about 4 years old and is the style where it is on a license plate frame. it sticks out the back about an inch or so but you have to notch out the license plate in order for it to work. i didn't like that idea so i just unplugged it for now. need to figure something out.

if you look closely at my license plate you can see the black dot in the middle. that black dot is my camera. i drilled a hole and mounted it in the middle there. behind the plate is an open area in the bumper so it worked out perfect. i ran the wires up through the driver side taillight and to the front. i've got it hooked up to a 5" clarion monitor up front.

i test fitted my camera in the area right above the hitch receiver. it fits nice in there and can still run the wire up. might need to fab a mount in there.
