I'd be curious if this is "the" forum or is there another one for Tahoe etc.? There was so much misinformation on the ordering process it isn't even funny. We would like to help others and correct misinformation, but it's a losing battle. Based on the activity and responses, either there is "another" secret Tahoe forum, or, people aren't into Tahoes. my .02 ymmv Again, just an example, Pilot is about the same size as Tahoe, 112 vs 123 cu ft for cargo. That's not a quality response, it's wrong factually, but didn't seem like anyone knew any differently and folks just accepted it to be true. For some reason, this forum 21+, always gets people from the other sub forums that always tell us how the older trucks are so much better, we are dumb for buying this generation truck, the new technology is bad, etc. etc. etc. I am here to learn about others experiences with this generation truck. I don't care about the previous generation trucks or else I would be looking there. That is the one thing I don't like this forum. I have not seen this on any other forum I have been on.

If I may gently comment... I didn't get 'out of debt' until mid-30s and I've never looked back since. I understand, no judgement, but just the observation that save and buy helps you A LOT rather than finance and pay interest - especially on a commodity that looses value such as a vehicle as apposed to say a house.
Wow, you really got a thing about my Pilot error. Get over it.I'd be curious if this is "the" forum or is there another one for Tahoe etc.? edit p.s. I found a stat that may be along the lines of what I said above. This forum has 1.9 mil posts total. I took a look at a forum for my other car, and it has 1.8 mil on one model/generation alone. So either the enthusiasm factor is different, or, there's a secret Tahoe forum that also has 1.8 mil threads on say 21-24's. Frankly I don't know.
p.p.s. checked another forum for our 3rd car, and 6.7 mil posts on one model / generation alone. So it just puts things into perspective imho
the reason European vehicles are smaller is because the family core is smaller, a majority of them are single and averages out to about 1.7 per. What I've learned is most people don't care about cargo space. If they did, the market share of the Tahoe/Suburban would be even higher. It's way above the competition. So much so, the XL version of the Ford, is barely a few cu ft more than a Tahoe. Someone on this forum even believed the Honda Pilot was about the same as the Tahoe. 87 isn't even remotely close to 123, it's 29% smaller, or the Tahoe is 41% larger. Shouldn't a person know this before spending the money. But even from a practical standpoint, 36 cu ft is more than 2 trunks of a very large sedan, or, half of the entire cargo of a fancy Euro SUV. So when folks say to each his own, it's very fitting in 2026. There's no more "thinking" for oneself automatically, it's go by the misinformation of the internet. To anyone who believes a 2026 pilot is about the same for cargo as a Tahoe, I would say go and buy it and you've saved a ton of money. For all we know, that person will be fine with the Pilot, or durango. Ask the municipalities (some are huge) how the Durango worked out for them? hint: OH and PA. Anyway, the Durango has less cargo space than a pilot, so why are they even being compared, they're not in the same class as a GM suv.
edit What next, compare a Buick Enclave to a Tahoe? It rides a lot nicer, but it's not the same at all. I get it if you don't need a large SUV, you don't need it, but they are not apples to apples.
that's because many of us are long time gm owners and know what the heck we are talking about, the answers you seek are here, the enthusiasm for the nannies and internal engine problems is not. I don't think too many people come here to comparison shop, especially against a Honda. that's comparing apples to banana'sI'd be curious if this is "the" forum or is there another one for Tahoe etc.? We bought the base High Country. Love it. Not a fan of the second row buckets though. They make it difficult for the dog. And when you fold them down you have this large gap between them. Plus the auto down on the right side is temperamental. Works 50% of the time.
Have not found a way to defeat start/stop without disabling it every time you start up. Switching to L9 eliminates DFM. Again have not seen any other way to defeat this. Weird that every time I switch to manual mode its in L7. Never seen it being in L10. Wish there was a way to know what gear and cylinder mode its in. Running 5W30 just to be safe. Typically getting > 20mpg in the city.
The shift lever P,R,D,N is stupid. On the right side pressing the button goes to park but on the left side pressing the button cleans the windshield. Meanwhile my Bolt on the Right runs the windshield wipers. Traveling at 70 MPH and the wife shifts into park trying to clean the windshield as she normally drives a Ford. It takes a while to figure out how to shift to N when going through the car wash. They don't like when you hit Park. Or if you slightly lift and stay in D.
No cars should have an "Infotainment" system. Way to distracting.
SW Update changed the position of the HUD. Fixing that is buried in the menus.
Android Phone autoconnects. So if you are travelling and using the built in navigation, and start search on your Android phone, Android connects to the Infotainment system and interrupts the driver. Turn bluetooth off on the phone and the car turns bluetooth on the phone back on. Dumb smart phones.
Built in navigation, (Android), is terrible. Searching for a gas station informed me of one 350 miles away. Travel plaza same. Asked it for a gas station within 5 miles and it doesn't understand. Seams to prefer Mobile stations. Using the phone's Android Auto is much better. However If I'm using my phone and want to listen to the Wifes iPhone you have to use the Apple Maps and switch it.
GM has been building autos for a long time. You would think they would be better at it.
But best of all the High Country Tahoe is 12dB quieter than my Chevy Van at 70 mph and 7dB quieter than the wife's Ford Escape. Making long trips much more enjoyable![]()

your loosing control of the right to repair, the tech is not "tried and true" hence they are sending updates left and right, a simple break down is not simple by any means. If you break down in one of these new ones your stuck like chuck until a tow truck comes, you can't even push it off the road "without special tools and getting under the vehicle" they want you to subscribe to services or live without those adorable features.....
And then when Gm moves on to the next platform, your stuck with what it is left over, they drop development the moment gm goes to the next thing which will be anytime now or within probably the next 2 years at the most.
yes there is the warranty factor of course, I am just poor so i live within my means, which would mean even if I bought a new one I would be owning it far beyond the warranty lifeYou forget it’s under warranty. And after that many people move on to another new truck….
The old ones get passed down to the guys spending their weekends fixing them.
I only want to work on a car if I want to do it; not if I need to.
And if you have the means to get the latest greatest products it’s called enjoying life.
You want to drive around in 2000’s tech so be it. I had a 2015 LTZ and my new 2026 blows it away in every measure of comparison. Yes it has tons of electronics and features but I like them. And it’s under warranty. I’ll either get an extended or get a new truck in 5 years.
And I’m not a poser I’ve worked on my share of vehicles. I had a 2006 f150 that I kept for 20 years and maintained myself to 230k miles. It just takes to much of my time now and I rather enjoy the new stuff
I still work on cars on my own time, right now I’m installing a direct connection stage 2 kit in my hellcat for 885hp. Doing it myself because I enjoy doing it.

There are way too many variables to give an average payment. Trim level, MSRP, loan term, interest rate, taxes, trade-in, and incentives all make a big difference.I know everyone’s situation and deal is different but what’s an average monthly payment for a 23 Yukon XL SLE and SLT with 5k down and great credit score. Lease and finance. Just trying to get an idea.
Well stated & as a former in the bus. fella the goal is to get you to focus on the monthly note, in agreement w/ all. There are way too many variables to give an average payment. Trim level, MSRP, loan term, interest rate, taxes, trade-in, and incentives all make a big difference.
With $5k down and excellent credit, I'd just start getting quotes from a few dealers and compare the out-the-door price rather than focusing only on the monthly payment. Dealers can make two identical vehicles look cheap or expensive just by changing the loan term.
Monthly payment is the trap; that’s how simple minded people end up with 96 month loans at 10% interest with a vehicle that sold for 2k over sticker!Well stated & as a former in the bus. fella the goal is to get you to focus on the monthly note, in agreement w/ all.
