I installed an AutoStop Eliminator in my 2025 Tahoe HC. Very nice product with a QR code to their install videos.

I removed only the lower side trim panel and installed the AutoStop with only a fair number of swear words.

I ended up with needing a light and an inspection mirror to see the factory connector as I could not release it by touch. Once it was unlocked the install took two minutes.

The device works great by remembering the last setting of the auto stop without having to remember to press the switch after every start.

Having a diesel HC, the auto stop on a diesel engine is beyond stupid.

FWIW - your mileage may vary,

Jim

Just to be clear.... Does this device actually keep the motor running at stop lights?

Yes, the device remembers the last setting of the auto-stop switch. So if the last time it was pushed to override the auto-stop, the device will keep that setting.

It’s a minor first world problem of having to push the button each time the vehicle is started but for under a $100 it was worth it for me.

Absolutely! Anything to reduce the impact of that incredibly annoying and useless feasture.

I installed mine a couple days ago and didn't seem to have the same issues you did. My instructions had me pull out the entire assembly rather than reach in and do it blind.
But agree, its the best mod and no clue why they don't have that button a sticky button.

Can't imagine this auto stop/start on a diesel engine. Maybe not the dumbest thing I've ever heard of, but close to it.
There's nothing worse on a diesel engine than stop start. We get the turbo spinning wildly and then the oil supply gets cut off. Sometimes every minute. That was the first modification I put on within 500 miles. Works perfectly behind the scenes.

Same here I had the start stop eliminator installed two days after taking delivery of my 25 Yukon LZ0 most ridiculous thing to put on a diesel engine is the start stop.

I installed one straight away on my '25 Yukon and '24 Subaru. I haven't given them a second thought until seeing this thread. The kit includes all items needed and the on-line install instructions are model specific and quite clear.

Also had both vehicles back to the dealer for various electrical/electronic issues and no mention of either being picked up on OBD scans.

It is beyond stupid on a gas engine too. I believe some of the problems with the 6.2L engines is related to auto stop.

Installed this (behind the dash) on my 2021 Yukon Denali and it wasn't bad. Absolutely a good decision / works smoothly :) But auto stop = off still shows on the DIC (along with some other annoying notifications such as lane assist = off) when I start.

I notice the engine seems to 'try to stop' (a split-second wobble in idle just after stopping) but then resumes smooth idling and wondering if this is the electronics preparing to stop but then get's the override signal?

I saw the new director of the EPA on television the other night. He talked about the study the government did where they determined that auto stop – start saves ONE gallon of gasoline in the LIFETIME of a vehicle. The government is no longer paying companies to install this evil feature. Some new GM vehicles have already dropped it. They estimated that it cost a manufacture $1200 to install stop start and then car owners spent another $150 to install a gadget to override it. I know about 8 people with Suburbans/Tahoe's. They have ALL permanently overrided stop start. Welcome to the club.

Is this one of those installed where you fear you are going to break the parts you need to remove?

I used a 5k tar tune on my previous vehicle but I don’t think there are tunes for the 3.0 diesel.

Nice product for the auto/stop start only.

Why not just get the module that removes both the start/stop and the AFM? Easier install too.

Oh yeah diesel lol. I see now….

Is there such a thing as a turbodiesel that also suffers from Engine Half@$$ / Cylinder Confusion?

On a side note, congratulations to all those who have disabled their A.S.S.

Zero fear and frankly I would be surprised if anything did break. Super easy install and a great video of it HERE
