I'm looking into/considering getting a new bumper. I killed a car with my truck and the fiberglass cover over the bumper cracked. I broke it so it's time to upgrade it. :D
I'm trying to decide if I want to just replace it and put on a Westin bull guard or go all out with a nasty steel bumper. Something like what Road Armor carries.
The only problem is no body seems to carry a bumper for my Cadillac/Denali front end.
It's a 1998 Tahoe with the Cadi/Denali front clip.
I would like to be able to drive through a house/car, but remember, my car-killer still has to be pretty. :Hump:

You are probably gonna have to get a custom built bumper. Someone on here just built one not to long ago. Im sure they will chime in soon..

I hope so, because this is what I'm driving around with right now.

Hopefully he is willing to build something and sell.

Is that a Ranch Hand? Christ I want a Ranch Hand real bad. They are a pretty penny though and I'm poor :emotions122:

I like the Road Armor style because it looks aggressive but also kind of clean.
I've been searching around the internet quite a lot. But nothing, nobody makes anything to fit the 1999 Yukon Denali/Escalade front end. :(
It looks I'll be going the way of Westin Bull guard.
Unless somebody can find something I can't.

My favorite is the kennesaw bumper man, they've really got the right idea. It's rugid, sharp edges, just looks TOUGH! Performs very well, and looks right on the obs body style for sure.

Kennesaw does have some nice stuff, especially that rear bumper. But still nothing that will work with the Cadillac front clip.

You might try getting something like a "ranch hand." It looks like you could buy yourself a bumper for the obs, and then weld a piece of diamond plate to cover up the area where the gap between the bumper and the light bezels are. Or you could get that nbs bumper and modify it to fit. Either way, it looks like it's going to be a custom affair.

See how the nbs has that larger piece of diamond plate to cover the gap

I figure there will be at least some cutting and welding that will have to be done. My friend has the tools I would need for that. I'm looking for one that will require the least work.
After studying a shit ton of pictures on Google I think the bumper will work with the body lines of my front clip.

Now, unless I'm mistaken, these bumper mount to the frame ends where the tow hooks are. Does anybody know if the frames are different between the 1998 Tahoe/Yukons and the 1999 Tahoes and Yukons? If they're not I'm going with a bumper from Buckstop and eventually a rear bumper/tire carrier from Kennesaw.

The '99 Yukon is obs, but a lot of people list it as nbs...I think they changeover was midyear? I know for a fact the obs style '99 yukon has the same frame.

That link you posted earlier is for the nbs trucks...I have no idea if that will fit the frame-rails or not, maybe someone else will chime in.

You could always call buckstop and ask. I mean..for that kind of coin you'd think they'd have spectacular customer service.
