it "should" be behind/under glove box. If you can verify which part is bad you can buy one and then use a obd adapter and a laptop, pay the $45 fee and program it yourself but that is all a investment, a decent adapter is about $350+ the part cost+ $45. fee.
the adapter pays for it's self over time as it saves you a trip to the dealer, the $45 fee is per vin for 2 years.
there may or may not be places that sell a preprogrammed module for the t2's haven't looked, usually if there is you will find them on ebay.
the first thing is to verify the bad part and get the number off of it.
you could get lucky and just have a loose connection, I would take the glove box out and start reseating the connections, be sure to disconnect the battery first.
The telematics module in our 2022 Yukon has also been acting up. The OnStar light goes between green and no light or vice versa, sometimes even within one drive cycle. I could care less about the onstar service, but when the unit goes offline it also ends up throwing a P00FF/U1962 CEL. Very annoying. Has anyone here been able to replace the module without going to the dealer? I see the module is backordered, but I would replace it myself, if possible, just to get rid of the CEL. I have a LAUNCH bidirectional CR that works well for basic maintenance, but I don't see module programming ability. Which adapter/software would work for this? I am very familiar with the Volvo world and have a VIDA/DICE system that I use to keep our Volvo on the road. Is there something similar for GM?

you will need a windows 10 laptop, (or pc) if you can reach a usb cable to the device and obd port
you would need to buy the $45 techline connect subscription
then download there software (in ADMIN) mode for everything, even the browser, it could take 2 hours and multiple restarts to get all the software loaded properly
just remember each instance has to be done in ADMIN mode or you will just have lots of problems.
the software will allow you to program the vehicle vin paid for, for 2 years.
It will also install gds2 but that will not work unless you pay for it, which is pretty pricey I believe a 3 day subscription is around $60 and a annual is $500+
your error could simply be a bad battery or poor connection at the battery terminals so check and clean that first even if it looks ok, wire brush the terminals.
Thank you! I actually replaced the battery recently because I had noticed weaker starting performance in cold weather (the codes were persistent with the old and now new battery). I will give the terminals a good brush. You think the BCM code is potentially not related to the telematics module? The errors showed up together and all modules scan great besides the telematics.
you could try reseating the module connectors but not sure how difficult it is to reach on the T2's
if you do that be sure the battery is disconnected first.
