Newbie forum member here. THANKS for making registration super easy! Was looking for some feedback as I am hoping to pick up a 2025 Tahoe High country this weekend. Do you all think that the air suspension is worth it over the MRC suspension alone? Thanks!

I'm asking also because there are 2 high country models in stock. The 2025 has the air suspension option and the 2026 high country does not. The 2026 is 6K cheaper also.

if you have air suspension you also have magnetic shocks. Air suspension always comes in combination with magnetic. You can have mag shocks without air. Lots of opinions on air. I have both and I think it’s considerably better than mag only.
The pricing spread between ‘25&’26 is the packages they each come with.

Take both for a ride. I thought the air shocks rode just a little better but not that much better. I have a 25 Tahoe and 26 suburban that I special ordered to my specs and did not order the air ride.

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

If you plan to tow anything or carry heavy loads inside the truck, then go with the added air suspension. If not, you probably won't use any of its benefits.

You can get Air suspension and save 6k? Why are you even questioning it? Are there features missing from the 2026 that you want?

The air suspension makes a noticeable difference. The regular magnetic ride is good, but if you drive them back to back you will absolutely feel the change. Plus the lowering when parked makes a much easier entry and exit

Whoops, my bad. I misread that.

Still would say air suspension, makes an incredible ride difference. You’ll forget the money you save in time, but the ride quality will always remain

You can’t go wrong with either. That being said, I have owned both, and my new 26 with Air and Mag ride is MUCH better than standard Mag ride. The wife noticed it immediately too. Leveling out while towing was extremely nice as well. I do not notice the suspension lowering for entry/ exit is all that big of a deal. And the power over our 23 Tahoe is also impressive. Same basic driveline combination, but the tuning must be a bit different. The 23 was excellent on power, but this 26 is better in every way. Trans shifting is spot on! On a trip we got a best of 23 mpg with our 5.3. Just about to 4000 miles now.

OP bought already so will just add this. I have air/mag in my 22 Z71, and my good friend has standard suspension in his 23 RST. His rides fantastic and if you don’t compare them side by side ( so to speak) I don’t think you will miss not having the mag ride. Personally…I love it. My Vette has it as well, but I don’t think it’s a deal breaker. JMO.

In just bought a 26 with mag ride and air ride. It rides well for a big truck.

Thanks for the comments and feedback! Much appreciated. I also have a vette with magnaride and I think it's amazing so that's one of the things that drove me toward a high country. Then the only question was whether the air ride and MRC was significantly better than MRC alone. So far I'm extremely impressed with the ride quality. With that said my previous SUV was a Mazda cx90 so that's my comparison point. Thanks again!
