Tried to install IPCW tails. Look great but I don't have rear blinker on the 1 light I installed Fronts and mirror have the hyper flash. Should I install both lights before I have to go w/ resistors?

Then question on resistors? I have 3OHM resistors b/c I"m planning on doing LED turn in front lights when They arrive next week. Would using 3OHM resistor on just rear LED do any damage?

Then last question on resistors which wires on the tails do I connect the 2 resistor wires to?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

I just put those tail lights in yesterday. No resistors are required nor do both have to be in before one will work correctly.

The way they have you splice into the existing wires is a bit crude so you have to make sure you get a good contact on each connector.

If I could reinstall them all over again I would strip some more of the IPCW wire casing off of so that when you insert it into the connector you are sure it's copper hitting the metal in the connector and that it's not hung up on the wire's casing....

I had the same issue as you at first. I just tightened the connectors with plyers hard as hell. I had to redo a couple of them to make sure the contacts were good and they seem to work really good now....

thx for the reply. I had to take them out b/c I had no brake light on one and no turn signal on the other. And only the left row of lights lit up on both lights. I did notice as I was taking them apart. Some of the wires did not seem to be cut/pierced well at all. I will try again from the beginning next weekend.

Are both rows of lights suppose to be on when the parking lights are on? And then the outside row is the directional and inside row is brake correct? Then the top socket is for the inside row of lights and the bottom socket is for the outside row of lights correct?

Thanks again for your assistance!

both rows will be lit up when your parking lights are on and when you brake they brighten up and when you turn signal the outside row brightens up on the flash. When no lights are lit the blinker just does the outside row.

Just take your time and make sure each connection is good and you'll be good. In retrospect you might want to just cut the wire you are splicing into twist up the new wire into the new one and electrical tape them tight. That way there is no vagueness that the connection is solid as hell.

up to you.

Solder connections do wonders in tail/headlight wiring situations. Also better to hold up for more years.

Ok 2nd attempt at this. Went better. I think everything works except right brake light. All 4 row are lite up. 2 outsides rows flash using turn signals w/ no hyper flash. The inside row on the left lights up brighter when brake is applied. But I lose the right inside row completely when brake is applied.

I also added the IPCW 3rd brake light which works fine. So I have 2 brake lights but can't figure out the other one. I've triple check the top connections on the right light but still can't get the brake.

Any thoughts?

Thanks..

How did this go? You get them all working good?

No not yet. I still don't have brake on the right side. But I'm so close to getting it I didn't want to take them out. I bought some new connectors to try. I think after opening and closing so many times they probably aren't going to work very well.
