I'm seeing a few 24's around me that are from a Canadian origin, even CPO's, that when doing a vin recall trace through numerous sites, including NHTSA and GMC.recall, show as having no recalls on the 6.2.
One vehicle that interested me has a cert of origin as being in late dec 23. Surely you would think it falls under the list of engine recall.

What do you all think is going on?
Canadian origin is exempt, even when being sold as a cpo in the US?
There isn't an issue with any of these vehicles?

Ok, suppose there's no thoughts on this but something doesn't seem kosher.

Well, dug more into the vehicle of interest and all recalls have been completed, including the latest on the 6.2L engine.
It passed inspection and had new oil, filter and oil cap done for this recall notice completed on 5-30-2025.

After more thought, I figured how could they sell a CPO with a potential recall on it from a certified dealer?

I wouldn't want a vehicle from Canada. You cannot override the daytime running lights without modification. Possibly a dealer software fix could correct this. Also, Canada has recently outlawed remote start. Watch out for that issue.

The lights will stay on as long as the vehicle is running as they are connected to the engine via the computer. If you disconnect them the truck will not run. I tried it on my 1999 Tahoe SLT and it was a waste of time, effort and money. Canada is serious about vehicle safety laws and regulations.

DLR's I prefer anyway. I ride motorcycles also, and the requirement is when engine on the headlamp low beam has to be on.

Thanks for headsup on the remote start, I'll check that if I move on it.

Outlawed remote start? Since when and where? Not true as far as I’m concerned. I bought a 2024 Yukon last April and a 2024 F150 in September. Both have remote start.
