Joining the forum here for lurking and asking questions. Just picked up a ‘96 Tahoe, white / dark cherry 2-tone with ruby leather, barn doors and a custom console. Nice vintage accessories like GM floor mats tip to tail, Ventshades, a cargo area cover, bug deflector, era-correct Sony 10-disc changer under the passengers seat. Overall a real nice solid rig that needs some tinkering (A/C leaks / low on Freon, air doesn’t blow from the dash vents, needs fuel lines and a fuel pump - gauge is all over the place.

Classic, timeless look with the white on cherry….and goes down the road oh so nicely.

Nice rig and welcome to the forum.

Barn doors rule!

Little known fact is the moroon interior makes you look instantly 4x cooler, especially when dressed period-correct 90s.
Too bad you don't have the dark garnet exterior too, or your multiplier would be 8x like me.

Even so, I've wanted to change my interior and pain her for years.

My fuel gauge has biannual panic attacks but works fine else wise. Do you have other fuel pump-related problems?

Welcome. Nice find!

You have found and become a member of the greatest forum and resource to everything you can learn to do the little TLC items you mention on your ‘96 Tahoe. As well any preventative maintenance items and known weaknesses to look out for or practically stay ahead of on your ‘96 Tahoe.

What’s this little doo-hickey? Looks like some sort of switch? Do you know what it controls?

Thanks all - yes indeed, it’s a fisher plow controller. I don’t care much for the setup that’s on the truck nine. I have a Western HTS from a previous vehicle that I’ll install. Capable but lightweight.
