New 2025 Tahoe Taillights

When I removed the 2021 Tail light and compared it, the plugs were surely different. I went under the vehicle hoping that further below the harness would plug, but still no. I will try to post pictures in the upcoming days.

I’m sure they’ll fit with a custom harness. Back in the day I retrofitted 2018+ LED tail lights onto my 2016 F-150. I made custom harnesses for them. It was super easy to do thanks to very detailed instructions written up by member of the F150 forum. Someone here has the technical chops to do this. Now all we gotta do is sit and wait.

Did they otherwise fit in the space in your pre-‘25? (Is it just a matter of wiring up a compatible harness?)

Doubt it’s going to be plugn play. the light animation more than likely comes from the BCM, not the the light fixture.

That’s fine. Them not doing that wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. The main thing here is the aesthetic.

We're talking tail lights here though. Do the tails do the exact same thing? And is that how the turn signals "blink" in the rear?

Yes there’s up/down animation on start/unlock and emulation of incandesant light bulb for turn signal.(dim/bright/dim)

Update:

Not to be discouraged, I contacted Gen5diy in regards to a harness to convert the 2021 wiring to 2025. Luckily, they were able to knock it out fast!
So now, I can confirm that the 2025 Base model Tail lights will work in the 2021. I'm not sure about the Uplevel 2025 tail lights, but these base models
work perfectly. I will add photos now.

How’d you source the tail lights, btw? I’m looking for ‘25 Denali lights, but can’t seem to locate them yet.

I went on chevrolet's website and got the vin from a 2025 LS. I then called my local dealer and ordered the tail lights using the vin.

There no link for the harness. I contacted them directly and had it custom made. This is most likely the first 21 to 25 tail light conversion.
