could have been programmed off for stealth mode, they do the lights and horn honk disabled when locking/unlockingNewbie SSV owner here. Is there anyway to turn automatic headlights back on? There appears to be a sensor on dashboard and switch has auto position. I’ve heard that computer needs to be reprogrammed. Truck is a 2010.TIA
I have a 2013 SSV and my dealership turned my Automatic Headlights and Daytime Driving Lights back on and it only cost $50 for the special programming from GM to turn them back on? Why would you need $500 in programming? Makes no sense to me?I also have a SSV, and the automatic headlights are programmed off (9G8 SEO - AUTO HEADLAMP DELETE) by Chevy. I inquired with the dealer and wanted them along with the daylight driving lights turned back on and they advised me that it required a whole new computer reprogramming that only Chevy HQ and do plus over a $ 500.00 charge. So, I'm happy with stealth mode lol
That's what my local dealership told meI have a 2013 SSV and my dealership turned my Automatic Headlights and Daytime Driving Lights back on and it only cost $50 for the special programming from GM to turn them back on? Why would you need $500 in programming? Makes no sense to me?
Try a different dealership as I got it done so I know for a fact it cost $50 to get the program from GM to turn them back on.That's what my local dealership told me
Yes but won't they will come preprogrammed for how the vehicle came from the factory? That would still not resolve the changes he is looking for without additional updating. At least that is my understanding but I could always be wrong.hell you can buy a used bcm programmed to your vin off ebay, prices vary but certanly cheaper than $500
the ones I just looked at run about $190 pre-programmed all you have to do is plug it in.
That is because most dealership techs are computer operators who can change the parts on your vehicle only after the computer tells them which parts are bad. If you are not doing cookie cutter tech things they have no clue on how to do it. I had that issue with mine until I finally got the answers the tech needed for him to do the updates on my headlights. All he had to do was contact GM with my VIN number and request a re-flash program to turn the automatic headlights and daytime driving lights back on. (I also found out that they can NOT turn the speed governor off without a written letter from the Police Department on official letterhead requesting the change and they have to explain WHY they need it turned off so that GM is not liable if the Police Department has issues when the vehicle exceeds the 99MPH that the governor is factory set at on the SSV.) Then GM charges the dealership $50 for the re-flash and then sends the new program to the tech to install in your vehicle. It is an easy operation but getting someone to understand what you want and how they can help you is another story all together. LOL!You got a good dealership! I talked to two about BCM programming, all I got was blank stares and un-returned phone calls.
getting another bcm programmed to vin make's it just like any other off the shelf tahoe, it would no longer have any ppv/ssv programming.Yes but won't they will come preprogrammed for how the vehicle came from the factory? That would still not resolve the changes he is looking for without additional updating. At least that is my understanding but I could always be wrong.
My point was if you program it to the VIN the VIN knows the vehicle is a PPV/SSV and would be programmed accordingly as the vehicle left the factory? Unless you got the VIN to a regular Tahoe and had it programmed to that VIN? Not 100% sure on this but that is what the tech told me just now.getting another bcm programmed to vin make's it just like any other off the shelf tahoe, it would no longer have any ppv/ssv programming.
the vin is not ppv/ssv specific., the vin simply defines what parts the vehicle has and does not have, there are no specialized ppv/ssv electronics or engine parts that make it different than any other vehicle.
no it doesn't work like that, it would just be regular programmingMy point was if you program it to the VIN the VIN knows the vehicle is a PPV/SSV and would be programmed accordingly as the vehicle left the factory? Going to try the local GMC dealership by me. Can’t hurt to askTry a different dealership as I got it done so I know for a fact it cost $50 to get the program from GM to turn them back on.
Might be $400 (with BCM programming) to deal with the autolights.$295, get the AutoSync, add/delete what you want and enjoy your one touch up/down d/s window and auto down for the rest, keep the rest of the PPV features. BTW it’ll also unlock a factory Navi or radio to slide in there.
Where can I get the AutoSync?$295, get the AutoSync, add/delete what you want and enjoy your one touch up/down d/s window and auto down for the rest, keep the rest of the PPV features. BTW it’ll also unlock a factory Navi or radio to slide in there.
