Just got the letter today. Will the dealer inspect it without having the parts on hand? Kind of difficult to not use my third row seats.

Couple of days after it was announced by NHTSA I called my dealer and asked the same thing since I was heading on a 1600 mile trip where my son would be sitting in the 3rd row seat. I told him I knew they couldn’t do anything but I just needed to know if it was going to be safe for my son. The service guy told me he’d do everything he could to give me an answer if it would be safe. Called me back 5 mins later and said the service manager who was a master tech knew exactly what needed to be checked and would personally inspect mine for me as soon as I could bring it it. Took it in the next morning and waited for him to inspect it. Mine is ok. Was really pleased with the great customer service.

Thanks for that. I’ll reach out to my dealer.

Got the mailer last week for my '21. Also, my '22 that is supposed to arrive today has a stop sale for the same recall, though my dealer said he hasn't had one fail inspection yet.

I've known about this recall for a month or so. Had my vehicle in for other issues and while they said they were aware of the recall, they didn't have a fix yet. Then I started getting notifications on the infotainment system that I needed to bring it in and they still said no fix. Now I got a letter in the mail telling me to bring it in so I guess we'll see if they have a fix for it.

I got my recall letter Tuesday after coming home from my first service at 5000 miles. Dealer did not mention it when I was there.

FYI, at my service yesterday, dealer inspected mine, build date 1/6/22, rivets were properly formed, so my recall is closed! Initially, they said "we don't' have the parts, so can't do it yet." I asked my service advisor to proceed w/ the inspection, so I can know if safe to use 3rd row or not. He said "sure." On pickup, recall was closed, as inspection showed all was well.

Asked my dealer to do the inspection so I could know whether or not I could use the seat regardless of whether they had parts to do the fix. They did, and said my rivets were fine.

Apparently, most vehicles pass the seatbelt inspection. Mine did. The rivet was ok.

We do the inspection at my dealership and if rivets are fine then you are good to go.
