Alright guru folks, I just noticed this opening on top of the dash. I can’t see it seated, but saw it reflected in the windshield yesterday.

If you have the heads up display… you’ll have the buttons for it just below your left air vent, above the headlight switch. If you don’t have heads up display this is for the pre-collision warning system that flashes the red dots if you come up on a car too fast…

10 Speeds come without because supposedly they have magic trans fluid that never needs to be checked or changed until 100k ….. lol…. But we all know about gm transmissions especially since they like hanging around wit ford trannys ……
The joke in the bmw forums were that the transmissions have lifetime fluid which meant the fluid would last the life of the transmission…

So, the silver strip below the vent?

Yes. So you have just the pre-collision warning system or just a blank hole… LOL
if you have the warning system, you’ll have the little simple car icon in the bottom of your gauges that’s green or yellow when following a car and there is a button on the left side of your steering wheel to set the distance it reads.

If you haven’t experienced it yet, it’s a little unnerving as it starts flashing in th windshield and vibrating the seat. It’s just a warning system, does not apply the brakes. But it’s saved my butt a few times when the people on front of me are driving like a-holes

So, where on the panel would that be? I assume it has to be turned on?

Today I went in for oil change AB’s tire rotation. I also described a slight rotating sound on the rf wheel around 40 mph. My $100 deductible was all needed for the added repair of replacing the rf hub/wheel bearing assembly. Winning!

Went from stock brakes to Brembo. Don't make fun of the Chevy Performance. I found them used for a great price.
