I know the subject of a cargo cover for GMT800 models comes up from time-to-time, but I keep hoping someone has found a solution but didn't post it. I'm looking for a cargo cover that will fit behind the second row seats of 02-06 Escalade base, Tahor and/or Yukon. The windows are tinted, but I'd still like to be able to cover the cargo area when traveling with luggage. Any suggestions?

I'm also curious if a cargo cover from another make/model vehicle would work. I had a cargo cover that was black, supposedly from an Escalade. I screwed up tho and sold it years ago. Haven't been able to find another one since.

I am fairly sure the covers are the same for Escalade, Tahoe and Yukon. The shades for the Escalade ESV, Suburban, and Yukon XL are the same within the group, but different than the Escalade, Tahoe and Yukon ones. But I'll keep an eye out.

Exactly. The long body covers are longer--side to side--then the short body. Iirc 64" 's to 66" 's.

The longer ones will obviously work with short wheel base, but not the other way around.

No. The LWB shades are too long--spring end to spring end. They are too big too lock into the hole provided for the shade.

What? The indentations in the sidewall plastic covering are further apart on the long wheel base versions?

I did not know that! So essentially, if you have a Suburban or Yukon XL, although you have more square footage in the cargo area behind the third row, you won't be able to cover something as tall as you would in a short wheel base SUV?
Not positive on that as I never compared lengths of both to each other, but the swb cover isn't wide enough to lock into position in the lwb. The difference between both is 2"'s.

I stand corrected. When I was buying my 2019 I had looked at the numbers. I felt as though the XL was 13" longer. But verifying the data again there is still a 20.5" difference in length, although the length of both short wheel base and long wheel base has grown since 2003.

2019 data for overall length;
LWB: 224.4"
SWB: 203.9"

I believe I was mixing up the WHEELBASE as the 2019 has a difference of 14" between short wheel base.

2019 data for wheel base length;
LWB: 130"
SWB: 116"

Once again I do stand corrected. I'm not sure where I was getting the 13" figure from as it relates to nothing.

By the way for S&G's the 2021+ models aren't quite as different from one another. The long wheel base barely grows by 0.8" but the short wheel base grows by 6.1".

2021 data for overall length;
LWB: 225.2"
SWB: 210"

2021 data for wheel base length;
LWB: 134.1"
SWB: 120.9"

And for even more, here's some data from the 2014 lineup. The wheel base figures are exactly identical to the 2015-2020 model year but overall length varies ever so slightly.

2014 data for overall length;
LWB: 222.4"
SWB: 202"

2014 data for wheel base length;
LWB: 130"
SWB: 116"

Not sure why you are quoting specs from 2014-2019.......in a 2000-2006 subforum. If the wheelbase gets longer so does the body.

My assumption was that the width of the body didn't get larger when the wheelbase and body gets longer.
