I purchased a 2007 Suburban 2500 with 191k miles to tow my car trailer/project cars around. I bought it with a salvage title from an insurance auction. This is not the first time I have purchased from this auction, and overall I am happy with the truck. The 6.0 runs great, no check engine light, 4L80E transmission appears to be newer and has great looking red fluid and shifts perfect. Now the bad. It came from a rusty area and was rear ended. It didn't look too bad in the pics, but it was enough to crack the frame behind the tow hitch. So far research has told my this frame is unique to the Suburban 2500 and therefore cannot be fixed using the rear section from a pickup. That much I am pretty sure of. I am searching through tow hitches and I keep getting hitches for a 1500/2500 on ebay, basically telling me the tow hitch is the same. Anyone know if this is the case? I may be able to buy a frame section with a tow hitch so it might not matter, but I was shocked that the hitches would be the same even thought the frame is taller on the 2500. I confirmed this because I also have an 09 Yukon XL and measured both frames. Anyway it's been a while and good to be back on the forum.

My memory is foggy but seem to remember them being the same. What gears are in it? If 3.73s it's rated for 7700 and with 4.10s over 9K.

4.10 gears

Here is a better question since I am looking for a rear frame section.
Are the 2000-2006 frames the same as 2007+?
I can't imagine they are too different but would not be surprised if GM made some changes in 07

They are basically the same but read there were some changes/updates over the years. When the pickups got new frames in 2011, the wagons kept the old ones until at least the end of production. Duraburb talked about this in a video a couple years back on youtube.

Oh yea I should watch some Duraburb videos. Those trucks are so cool. Wish I had duramax power! But I got a 6.0 cheap so not complaining
