The oil pump is harder plus you pretty much have to pull the pan to do it. You need to remove the balancer, front cover and timing chain. I mean, there’s supposedly a cheat where you loosen the front of the pan and let it hang down a bit and then stuff a rag in so you can’t drop the bolt into it but I have heard getting the pickup tube bolts in is almost impossible. I wouldn’t try replacing the pump with the pan on myself.
The guy in that video modified the pickup tube so he could put the bolt back in the other hole. I'm probably just gonna pull the whole thing out and see how bad it is. It's probably f#@$&d anyway, might as well get it out of there

Got a bit of Christmas money that I'm dumping back into the old girl. I ordered a weld together steel bumper kit for a Jeep XJ ($140) that I'll be adapting to the Tahoe, and I bought a few sticks of steel to start building a roof rack. Also going to build a swing out tire carrier and the wife and I are going to start saving towards a roof top tent so we can go camping more this summer.

Y u no haz build thread?!

Waiting during today, to go out NYE, I was looking at the tree branch, where the surface is usually the first contact to some low overhead garage door......
So, I did some 'gardening'. Flat black spray paint did the trick.

I dusted, wiped & ' 303 ' protectant plastic..... ( Good to do, to discover any issues )..

I found one.... Cheapskates at GM uses cheap "Pep Boys" wire loom covering.
Most was crumbling apart like kellog's corn flakes. Time to get real stuff & re cover!

Well it IS 15 year old thin plastic. It doesn’t last forever.

I still like braided better. Most of mine is but I still did use a bit of regular plastic split loom, there’s more I need to do with the braided. If you can get to both ends it’s nice to get the type that’s not split, it just slips over the end and then when you pull it tight it constricts until it’s tight, then I put heat shrink ends on it to secure it.

The Whipple alone by itself makes it sick!!!!
I'm still trying to convince my spouse that it's absolutely necessary to spend $8K on a car that's worth $10K to install a SC. But i will do it eventually, I promise!
