There’s so many components to the fuel pump module and no easy way to test them individually- FPR, level sensor, filter, pump- so it’s easier to just replace the whole shebang once that tank is dropped. Kinda crazy.

Agreed. It all has the same mileage/wear and takes the same amount of work to get down to that point.

Maybe that’s why they keep running out, because people are ordering a bunch at one time. It’s the same with everything. If people would just order what they need things might settle down. I’m reminded of the toilet paper hoarding when I read things like this. How many oil filters do you need for the next six months? Sheesh.

4 oil filters are not really buying out the place and hoarding like a closet full easy there, so yes if this problem is going to continue I am not going to step down to a lower quality filter & drive to 5 stores just for a oil change. No need to cry.

It is when everybody who usually buys one now buy 4 each. Our supply chain is designed for just-in-time delivery. Everybody buying 2, 3 or 4 times as much each completely throws everything out of balance. It has an extreme effect. They don’t have enough supply for that, so say what you want in your defense but if tens of thousands of people decide to buy 2 to 4 times as much at one time when you don’t need that right now, the rest of us will pay by finding they’re out of what we need. You are part of the problem by thinking that way. It’s happening with everything. People are stocking up on things which makes the suppliers run out. So again, do you need 4 filters? Does everybody suddenly need 4 of everything? If so, we are screwed.

Yes, and you should have one filter on your shelf for your next oil change along with the oil needed. That way when you change your oil, you order another filter and you now have months before you need it. If it’s out of stock when you need it, I’m sure in the next 2-3 months it will be back in stock. It’s not difficult.

Well when no stores around me sell wix filters specifically, I am not going to order 1 at a time and pay $6+ shipping each time...If you wanna cover shipping for each time I need a oil filter I will order one at a time let me know if you need my pay pal we can stay in touch. I can order one sure, but when it’s time for my next change I’m not gonna postpone it for 2 months while I wait for a oil filter. I am strict with the products I use and I stick to that. Sorry if you don’t have toilet paper in your part of the US but sometimes it’s every man for em self...I’m sure so many people think of me when they go to order oil filters. NOT!

Yep I waited 2 months or so for my wix to be in stock, apparently buying a few at a time to have spares when you service more then one engine that takes the same filter upsets some people here haha. Not going to pay $13 a piece on Amazon or for a Napa premium / platinum whatever.

Guys, this is a "what did you do to your truck today", not "come in here and swing your purses at each other". ;)

Keeping the theme of the thread going, yesterday I applied Chemical Guys Tire Shine to my tires for the first time. I'll see how well the shine holds up, but applying it was much easier and cleaner than the Armor All Gel I was using the last year or so.

Looks pretty close to the armor all packages lol...when you apply that do you wipe with a rag or just spray and go. Every time I try to gloss mine up it spits over everything when I drive

Have all the parts to rebuild the front end, now rain and freeze for the next week I was kinda hoping I could get something done before it gets even colder but guess it's going to wait.....
Yeah we went from the mid 60’s up here in Oregon last week to 40’s this week so I’m not doing anything outside. I have enough inside projects to stay busy with. I worked outside every winter for over 40 years in my careers and I don’t miss it. I was just thinking yesterday when it was 38 and raining in the morning….sure glad I don’t have to go work in that anymore. There’s nothing than that combination of cold and wet. I’d rather it just snow at that point.

The weathers being funky these days, meanwhile in Buffalo we might break a record Saturday supposed to be high 60’s, and up to 70 mph winds though lol.

Dude I was just yanking your chain. Looks like it worked. I couldn’t care less how many filters you buy. I always have the next one on hand. I don’t buy things in a knee-jerk reaction. My oil changes happen maybe 4 months apart. That gives me plenty of time to get another filter and oil on hand. My buying habits haven’t changed since the start of this pandemic. I shop exactly the same way I always gave and have never run out if things, it always cracks me up when I see people getting all stressed out and panic buying. It’s the reason things are so screwed up in the supply chain. It’s not designed for huge swings up and down. People need to learn patience snd planning ahead. Oh well, this has been great fun. I got a good laugh, thanks. Carry on.
