Awhile back I ordered RTint 20% Precut front tint for the Yukon. Finally installed it over the weekend!

Although the first window has imperfections and the second one has slightly fewer imperfections I’m happy with the results!

Not sure the PoPo (funny...when I wrote “PoPo” my phone gave me the option of police officers ‍♀️) will be happy though (legal tint for fronts in MN is 50% apparently).

I know the pros can slide it under the bottom window weatherstrip, but I decided to play it safe and remove it...

Now I can pick my n.... ehem, ear and nobody will know.

Looks good. I hate the tint laws. it’s against the law almost anywhere to have the front windows done. But cops seem to be pretty chill about it in eastern PA. I was appalled when I drove through Virginia and I got pulled over. The officer put this stupid thing on my window to test the darkness and then proceeded to write me a ticket.

Same thing happened with my old Jeep that had tires past the fenders a few inches. The local Duluth, MN police were fine about it, but once I got into small towns WI I had trouble.

How much was your ticket?

That’s my state (commonwealth) for you. I tinted the back half of our daughter’s 96 Volvo, nothing up front, and she got ticketed on the way home from college. I went to court and saw the same officer had ticketed 8 others. All were dismissed. In defense of the officer, he had been shot at through tinted windows, so I get it.

Nobody in FL gives a crap, I have 5% on top of factory with a pretty low AS1 strip and I've had no problems. My USAF plate might help but I don't really know anybody that's gotten hit for tint unless the entire windshield is 5% or it was an add on offense on top of speeding and being an all around a hole.

How much was it? The tint shops here will do both front windows for 50 bucks installed, how much could you possibly saved, vs. Looking at a not perfect job every time you see your truck?

Depends on the tint used.

Mine was $120 using nano ceramic tint. Only $85 using standard tint.

It was $30 for both windows (precut). I’m a big DIYer and love taking care of things myself so it’s more about how good it feels to take care of it myself than the money saved. I feel confident enough now to buy a roll and cut it myself on future vehicles.

Without getting into too much detail, the whole “safety” thing is a joke. When I was in AZ pretty much every vehicle had 5% tint and it never became a safety issue. It’s just one of those laws designed to generate revenue tbh

Here in MN I think we can only have 50% on the front windows. I’m bound to help generate revenue for them sooner or later.

Knock on wood...I’ve been in the Cities for several years now and haven’t gotten tagged. But they have bigger fish to Fry down here it seems

You’re close by! Yeah...Duluth has its problems, but probably nothing like the cities.
