Exactly like you said , loud at cold start. I did it myself , I cut the old exhaust and threw it in the garbage where it belongs. Just kidding I still have it. My straight pipe civic is louder lol but not raspy just very bassy . I was kinda afraid that it would be obnoxious but it’s almost perfect. I’ll try to film it when I’ll get the chance.

anybody see this before? it's not the battery, it's not the battery connection (ground) or high resistance cables
it only does it when cold, I loose all cluster function, or cluster backlight flickers, radio audio, sometimes hvac fan or hvac digital control reboots.
dealer is ordering a new cluster but I don't think that is the entire issue.

Not sure if this helps but another complication with the ground system

https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/128601-sensor-on-ground-cable/
No this is a connection issue somewhere I think, maybe the bcm or some other module, mostly I get audio cut-off or if I am playing my ipod it will stop playing until i hit next or I will have no audio output at all yet the radio is on just fine, it gets progressive when it is cold to include the hvac fan cuts off and then cuts back on 5 seconds later, digital hvac controls reboot on the radio screen, cluster light flickers, cluster shuts off and on like you are restarting the truck. battery is new, battery fuse panel and positive cable is new. high battery cable resistance has been mentioned but it only really does it when it is particularly cold out in the morning then it might randomly do it once the rest of the day.
drives and shifts perfect, starts every time, no engine problems, no other issues at all.

dealer just called me back and said they think it is the cluster because the cluster wont program and if the cluster is loosing connection and rebooting it would affect audio. so I guess I will find out next week when the cluster comes in if that was it or not, seems weird to be just the cluster

They over complicate everything anymore.... I remember my very first vehicle was a bare bones 1983 S-10. No A/C, vinyl bucket seats, rubber floor and FM Radio. It had the 2.8l in it and aside from an always leaking rear main seal.. you couldn't kill it. I'm not sure I could survive without A/C anymore... but I'd buy a basic stripped down version of my 2015 tahoe. I would be happy with the most basic of electronics and a good ole carbureted small block LOL. I guess I just need to buy an old K5.

The MOST Bus does loop through the cluster. So it’s feasible for the audio to be going out if it’s rebooting. That doesn’t explain the HVAC going in and out though.

I remember when Die Hards were the go to standard. I’ll have to keep an eye on them. I’ve been using Interstates the last 10 years.

Not sure why but diehard golds are my go to battery. I’ve always had good luck with them and have also lasted me the longest in all my vehicles...I’m sure they are made in the same factory as other brands with a diehard sticker slapped on but they have not failed me yet.

I could be wrong, but I think Johnson Controls and Deka make 99.9% of all the batteries out there.

Do I hear the back seat rattling? That is OBVIOUSLY the reason for your electrical troubles.
this is my Silverado there is a rattle in the back I put subs under the backseat and I have 2 brackets on the sides that I haven't finished up yet so those are rattling and the amps are just sitting there under the seat probably rattling on something also, just have to tiddy it up. the dealer thinks it is the cluster because they cant get it to program and the audio is connected to the cluster thru the dic so the theory is if the cluster is loosing power and rebooting then that is causing volume problems with the audio because the steering wheel/cluster/radio are interconnected. they just want to try that first before moving on to other stuff, it's under warranty so no big deal to me glad it's happening now and not after the warranty is up.

the hvac has a digital display over the radio so that might be why but I am just guessing on that, but I forgot until last night the A/C button on the hvac control flickers at night so I am going bring that up with them when I take it back for the cluster. could be the hvac control is funky also.
