Those cars and the Caprices do ride great. Miss that big car era. Definitely want a 96 Impala SS at some point down the line.

Especially seeing how much aftermarket support they have for putting LS engines in as well as 6sp autos and such. I agree, someday I'll own another one.

At one time I had (2) 96 Impala SS's at the same time. I had a dark cherry metallic and my wife had a black one. They both had the floor shifter and were a blast to drive.

My 96 was cherry metallic and had the floor shifter with analog gauges.

Didn't they all have floor shifters? Back in the day it was the car to get! Isn't the rarest color that greenish one? Aqua marine?

94-95 had column shifters, but I believe all 96's had floor shifters. BUT... Mid 95 there was a change in rear sway bar mountings and different rear control arms... Mine had those upgrades. I also did upgrade my front ball joints to the 9C1 style and installed all the 'missing' body mounts the 9C1 had. Damn I miss that car, it handled awesome.
