Anyway to test it other than replace it?I have had this problem and it turned out to be he voltage regulator/alternator. Put 2 AZ reman alternators on before I threw a fit on the 3rd one and had them replace it with a NEW one.( the reman ones work for a week or so then went bad) The new one has been ok for a few months now.
31.5 v on A/CTurn your voltmeter to AC. See if you show any voltage.
Most likely the voltage regulator is going bad.
Wait wait wait... cluster is not original? Yours vehicle is a 2005 model? Sounds like you may have the symptom of putting a 2003 cluster in a 2005 vehicle. I thought this started due to radio. Need more info. The more and more this goes on. The more I think it is a bad cluster.
GM Guage Specialists damaged my original cluster while adding trans gauge and so he sent me this afterward. It’s got other issues and I’m thinking this is another one.
