How would that be better than just pulling a fuse?
My thoughts also. Unless there is a crazy ABS failure thats preventing the base brakes from working as intended, pulling the ABS fuse prevents ABS intervention, thus leaving you with base conventional brakes.

I did this to both my truck's. The only reason I did this is I had the ABS kick in on a dry road a few times and could not trust it. Brakes work fine But your Brake Light may stay on all the time.

The ABS is a nice system when it works as it should. unless it's randomly coming on when you don't want it to I would leave it alone.

abs is a redundant braking system, pull the fuse and "walla" you have successfully converted to a conventional system

Locking up tires created a vehicle that literally is out of control. Why you ask? Because it has no traction at that point and tires are sliding atop the road, rocks, etc. A human cant outperform the ABS system. Our reflexes and muscle control simply cant keep up with the system. Fix it if its broken. Dont how? Ask on here! This is what this forum is for. Common failures for GM ABS... Bad sensor at wheel, bad hub (4x4) bearing, faulty wiring, bad ABS computer (usually corroded) among other problems.

I would imagine there are reasons for wanting to disable abs such as for off-roading
