Interesting. Why does the retrofit kit for those of us that don't have them only come with one, I wonder?
I think the Dorman one is a different design, same amount of area. The one I retrofitted in my 08 Silverado bends to the side as it slides up. These are in 2 parts so you don’t have to bend them, just slide 1 up and push it back then slide the second one up. I’ll bet the regular 2piece filters fit the Dorman retrofits but Dorman made theirs different so you are led to believe you have to buy their filters, which is ingenious marketing imo.

Installed my new belt today,

and also messed with the new idler. I used a small flat washer instead of the stock large concave washer. Redipped my grill

Since it was starting to look crappy with the old dip on it. Fixed my amp wire, since I kept having issues with it. I hope my belt stays out this time.

Not sure if I posted on here. But for awhile I’ve been debating about selling my Yukon. I already found a stock 5.3 to swap in the Yukon. Also have a pretty sweet project lined up to take its place and put my 6.0 in it. Anyways. Both are clean

What did I do with my Yukon today?

Proved to my Wrangler-driving buddy that not only could I pull him out of Martin's Gap when his 4WD quit, I *could* traverse the obstacles he said I'd get stuck on because my "wheelbase is too long and there's not enough clearance with no lift."

Also, got it dirty, and held it on 3 wheels. All in "Auto 4WD".

Heh.

Reading what I wrote, it sounds like I’m one of these ********** racing through a construction zone.[emoji23] that’s not the case here, FYI, it’s a road widening project been going for a couple years, due to new homes in the area. The road sits untouched for months while they don’t work on it.

So Friday, I drove through the same road construction I’ve driven through for nearly a year now right up the street from my house. Unfortunately, someone decided to move the orange barrels around.. so I was going too fast through a tight section, and hit my passenger mirror on the road closed sign. I’m so pissed I did this. Mistakes happen, and I’m glad it’s minor, but still pissed off about it.

Ordered a new mirror glass and cap.. guess I’ll be able to try my hand at painting a bit sooner than I thought. At least I can experiment on a small piece now. I was planning on repainting the mirror caps anyway, since they’re small, and pretty faded compared with the rest of the truck.

Now, just waiting for my paint and plastic adhesion promoter to arrive..

I just spoke to the fine folks at Elite Engineering about my catchcan that I'm spending way too much money on. It's just something that I want to be different than what everybody else runs, and my engine bay looks nice so I want to make it nicer. Anyway, I had already talked them into powdercoating it red instead of their standard black so it will be a one-off and they agreed to do that for a nominal charge. But then they mentioned that send it out to laser engrave their logo and I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if they can add "THE BEAST" to the engraving and they said they can get that done probably for free. Pretty cool. I did mention that I will be showing it off here on the forum. Here's my engine bay, and the style of catchcan. It will also have a clean side separator and all black braided hoses with AN fittings.

I'll update after I get it installed.

Not me but the Portland Police kinda overloaded one of theirs yesterday. These stupid demonstrators aren’t even from here. I don’t understand why they come to our city to do this shit.

My Esky did not have them from factory I retrofitted and installed 2 filters.

My guess is that you get more filtration with better overall flow with more filter area. They use 2 seperate filters as thats the only way you could slip them into that slot i'd imagine.

I ordered the following items

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G5VHFW8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0010DW5ZO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

when I did my retrofit.

Mine Are 2 years old. Probably due for a change.

Edit: Thinking about it the wife has complained about a musty smell lately and air flow isnt great. Ordered some new ones.
