hello all,

Just bought a new to me 2016 Yukon Xl Denali. I have been cruising the forum for sometime now and researching all the upgrades that I want to do.

I live in Nashville Tn and we have annual emissions testing but I really want a black bear tune after reading everything on here and talking with black bear but I don’t know if it is going to effect emissions or not. I have a v2 tuner so I can always flash back to pass but I wanted to reach out to the community to see what if any your first hand experience with this is. Thanks in advance.

I have emissions testing here in Oregon and am running a cammed 6.0 with a Whipple blower and open headers with the downstream O2 sensors tuned out by BB and it passes emissions fine.

Thank you all for your responses. When thinking about the system and how it operates, I didn’t think that the tune would effect it, but just wanted to be sure before I did anything. I am excited about tuning it. I am going to run a few more tanks of fuel through it before I do it though. Just to have a good before and after comparison. My first tank was from the dealer and I’m assuming they just filled it with 87 octane. 55mph average on first tank and 21.8mpg. I don’t drive it much since I have a company vehicle but I’m dead set on the tune and excited.

Let us know when you do your tune & how you like it! Im lucky & live in a state that doesnt even care if you have open exhaust. We don't even have inspection stickers anymore.

I'm running 92+ octane tune from BlackBear and getting about 16 to 17 Mpg around town if I am careful. Unfortunately after a cold air intake install, my foot has developed a bit of lead in it........

everyone just needs to move to my county in pa. no computer scanning and all they do is look underneath to see if there is something that looks like a cat on the exhaust. im still waiting for them to add full emissions so i keep mine legal.

Ours is even easier on Louisiana. You pull in, they tell you to turn on your head lights, press on the brakes, and turn on your signals. Done! New sticker applied
