Folks:

Unplugged battery for a few hours while I installed a new throttle body and other engine items. Upon power up, the clock has lost its time--no surprise; however, as I go into the menu to set it, no numbers appear in the hour or minute fields for me to go up or down with. In other words, I can't set it. So the clock on the display screen of my Yukon Denali just shows " : " A colon with no number before or after.

Is this unit fried? If so, how strange. A power cut and it can't be reset.

I tried unplugging the battery for 15 seconds to see if I would let me set it. Nope. Same problem.

Any suggestions?

Is it a nav unit with the flip down screen? If so there is a hidden menu and you can set it from there. Google gm nav hidden menu

Awesome. Got this youtube vid:

It basically said, if you rather follow my instructions than watch it, to hit your menu button on the right panel. Pick "display" from the top. Hold your finger on the lower left corner of the screen until it changes to a "Enter PIN Code" screen. I then entered 295660, and hit OK and I was into the hidden screen. I hit next page and then could hit change time. Worked GREAT!. Thanks!

My alternator crapped out one the other night, so after replacing it, my clock is doing the exact same thing! I'm gonna try what this video shows.

Does this fix work for if I set my clock for the correct time but when I turn off the truck or leave it off for a few hours it goes back to one hour earlier. Example: I set my clock to 4:00pm and then thirty minutes later I come back and turn on the truck and it says 3:30 pm instead of 4:30 pm?

Daylight savings time is an option in there too, iirc. If not set your clock back an hour.
