All stock ‘05 Tahoe.
Will a MPG tune, make a difference in power? I’m content with the performance as it is, but would like to try to increase the mileage. I just don’t to lose power, if I go for a MPG tune. I know, if I wanted MPG, I should have bought a Honda!
Will a HP tune, have a negative impact on mileage, will it be about the same, or wil it improve mileage?

Thank you.

Can you keep your foot out of the gas? That will be the bigger impact on mileage. HP tune can get good MPG, IF and only IF you can stay out of the throttle.

We do not have a specific MPG tune, but we do see some improvement with our tunes. Let me know what your engine size is, and I can let you know the gains we see with our tunes.

Correct, the foot on the pedal is a big factor in mpgs.

You can have both unless you want good gas mileage at WOT! There are different tables to modify at WOT compared with regular cruising. Increasing the performance of an engine almost always increases its efficiency too. My experience anyway with street driven autos and trucks.

It’s a 5.3, and yes, I can keep my foot out of it. I have a ‘58 Plymouth with a 630hp 528 stroker for “ spirited” driving.
Thanks for confirming that.

We strive to unlock every bit of available power from your engine. This typically results in a 15-30hp, 15-20ft-lbs and 1-2mpg improvement along with improved shift patterns and throttle response, all depending on fuel quality, octane and vehicle condition prior to the tune.

What's your turn around this week for updating tunes?

Hello James, because of his current workload, it is taking a little longer than normal for tune updates, about 5 to 10 business days. Hopefully Justin will get to your email tonight (he is flying from ID to CA right now). Thanks for your patience.

With the autocal, if I make upgrades, do you retune for what I would have already paid?

One of the guys who never end modding can chime in. I've gotten 4 tunes .No charges after the first scan.
Shifting alone makes it worth it. How it pulls definately the runner up.
But the 2 extra mpg is nice.
I will say though. Once it pulls hard to almost 6 grand .You quickly forget to worry about the mpg. ( or I do )
