You’re not moving anywhere.

Not yet. Most likely will be another 1.5 years, when my youngest will be starting middle school. That's plenty of time to do some @jdpber-level research. When it gets closer to that time, I might query some of you guys here for details of your locales. Don't worry, I won't bother you cuz I'm not interested in any place with excessively stringent car mod laws. :p

Fair enough. ;)

As stated, I'm not too keen on switching all bulbs back & forth, and I'm going to have to do that every year if I want to run LED exterior bulbs. So I'm thinking about selling-off my whole LED setup (less the interior LEDs) and permanently going back to factory-style. I'll post up if I make that decision. Someone will get a great deal.

Dammit. Why'd you have to say that? Now I gotta scroll back through your pics to see if I can find a reason to talk myself out of buying yours should you decide to sell. I could source my own, but getting everything in a complete package caters to my laziness.

Yup, a complete and turn-key package. Only reason I'd sell is that I'm lazy and don't care to do the light-swap dance every year.

I'll make a decision by Monday, since I'm changing all out this weekend to have the ol' girl reinspected. Will advise.

Couldn't you just find a different inspector that would be lenient?

I know VA is a pain in the ass... I used to have to shut off all the blue lights on my Peterbilt when going through the scale houses.

They have just revamped some inspection protocols statewide. I have reason to believe that the jig's up.

Changing bulbs out once a year can't be too big a hurdle to run the ones you want, can it?

I don't see the reasoning behind the problem with LED bulbs. They're brighter which would seem safer. As long as they're not burned out or maybe not in headlight housings which aren't designed for them which might blind oncoming drivers, but for everywhere else they're safer IMO.

Cool.

But the unfortunate reality is that our opinions don’t mean a damn thing. The state is intent on controlling certain things, and exterior bulbs on vehicles matters a lot in Virginia.

Oh well. My life is not wrapped around LEDs. Life goes on.

Well, my low-beams, DRLs, fog lights, reverse lights and tag lights are all back to halogen. Took around 90 minutes and some cussing to complete the swap. I’ll return to the inspection site and I’m sure she’ll pass muster.

Not eager to do that swap job again anytime soon.

Will sell-off my LED exterior bulb package, including high-quality low-beams, DRLs, reverse lights, tagain lights, puddle lights. All top-shelf stuff.

Look for a post in Classifieds shortly.

Curious what low beam lights you have and do you have any output shots like against a wall?
