I could have done it myself but did not. Had a local shop do it. Not difficult with the right tools/equipment.
Just make sure you're prepared for the front struts if you have to swap and components over to your new struts. I needed a wire brush, punch, 4 lb hammer, a cinder block (which was left in pieces), a 24" piece pf pipe, PB blaster and a torch to get the spring seats off my old struts to put them on my 5100s (they don't come with seats).

Weird, but I'd been noticing some droning lately with the Airaid M.I.T. Removed it a few days ago and reinstalled the factory intake assembly.
I'll forfeit the extra 2hp with the Airaid for the cleaner, quieter ride with factory intake. lol

Just noticed that my relatively new rear rotor hats are rusty AF. lol They have improved my pedal feel and they are smooth in action, but, yeah, they were cheap, so I'm not surprised that they lack zinc coating or paint.
Now I'm trying to decide whether to allow my OCD to get the better of me. Does anyone but TYF members notice rusty rotor hats?
Maybe I'll pull the wheels off and paint them sometime. Or not.

Horrendous!! I cannot believe the other drivers let you drive around like that?
Last time I couldn’t be bothered to pull the wheels and did a little hand painted artist work through the spokes on both the calipers and rotors.
Was some nice time sitting on the ground contemplating other parts of the suspension that could use a bit of touch up too. Lol

I just masked it off with some paper and tape, sat down and did a little brush work. Used some of the Rust O Leum paint from HD in the tiny can. Gloss black for the rotors and aluminum for the calipers.
Steady hand and for the small bits those multi packs of artist brushes come in handy.

Don’t mind the surface rust on the rotors. Salt air from the beach and she hasn’t had much road duty lately. Will be rectified soon...

Does that paint hold up to the heat? Those rotors and calipers can get really hot.

Wanted some contrast between the wheel, caliper and rotor.
When I redid the pads and rotors with Powerstop (was not aware of the NNBS upgrade at the time) I did originally spray them with silver caliper paint.
Thought about maybe a darker grey for the calipers just for something different, but standing back from afar the calipers in that aluminum/silver seems to stick out pretty good, especially with the large area between the spokes.
Calipers seem to stand up pretty well. Usual wear and tear/salt air takes a toll, but then again I don’t daily it so the mileage stays low on average comparatively.
The rotor hats stay about the same as above with just the skinny part on top tends to disappear after a while whether it was the high temp spray paint I used at the brake change or that Rust O Leum.
They still look better than the other vehicles at the stop light!

Well, I just failed state safety inspection due to my LEDs in place of halogen bulbs: low-beam, DRLs, fog lights, reverse lights, tag lights. I have 15 days to correct them by installing factory-style (halogen) bulbs.
Guys doing the inspection stated that Virginia requires that bulbs have to be of the style installed originally on the vehicle or, if changed, that the carton containing the new bulbs states "DOT-approved."
I'll see what LED bulb cartons I still have. If they state anything about being DOT-approved, I'll bring the cartons in rather than converting back to halogen. Otherwise, I'll switch back to halogen, then switch them back again after the inspection.
This is a drag but not the end of the world. I'm not big on doing the switcheroo back and forth but life will go on.

If I had any idea that these mild mods would cause the truck to fail inspection, I'm not sure I'd even install them to begin with. Kind of surprised about it. I've done mods to lots of cars over the years and never had any issue.
I guess it pays to do advance research to get an understanding of what mods cause inspection failures.
Despite this, I'm glad that we have annual safety inspections here in my state. It's very heavily traffic-clogged around here, so without inspections there would probably be lots of hoopties breaking down or causing more traffic issues than we already have.
