Speaking of IPhone X - I just picked up a 17 Tahoe (was able to get the dealer to buy back my 15 - had tons of issues)

Wireless charging will not work on the 17 but it will on 18 Tahoe - going to try and replace the entire lid maybe

Removing the headphone jack was the final straw for me. I’m on the lookout for something new but for the first time in a decade I doubt it will be an iPhone.

And yet more and more phones will be cutting out the headphone jack. Whatever phone you find next will probably have to be the last one you buy as it’s becoming a wireless world...

And yet every Apple 7 user I know has wired headphones and uses the silly dongle in order to work around apples increasing irrelevance and arrogance.

Yeah, for now. When they go to update their headphones that won’t be the case. They’ll go wireless.

I bet all of those headphones (especially expensive ones like noise canceling over the ears) will still come with a wire so that you're not screwed on a long flight if you forgot to charge your battery.

Phones shouldn't be an annoyance and eliminating the headphone port, requiring you to carry around a dongle and/or remembering to always keep your headphones charged is the opposite of that.

Apple. Last to add the convenience of wireless charging. First to eliminate headphone port.

Because...Innovate.

I agree getting rid of the headphone jack was stupid. Everyone I know with the seven constantly complains about it. The wireless headphones are too easy to lose and you can’t charge your phone and use headphones. Change just to change is not usually a positive.

haha...yeah, it cracks me up seeing everyone get excited when apple releases a new phone with dated technology. My neighbor made a big deal about their new iphone 8 having wireless charging...lol

The "X" might be a game changer but apple has fallen off with advancements the last 5yrs.

I'm fine with apple not being the most bleeding edge thing out there. Thats their MO anyway. Come out with a really revolutionary product (iphone 1) and then kind slow their pace until they come out with the 'next' big thing.

But if chaps my ass when they do stupid shit like drop a headphone jack in the name of 'innovation' yet dont even have wireless charging. We all know its a money grab so that their investment in the W1 chip is realized and their patents for wireless protocols yield them financial benefit.

Yep, got mine ordered via Verizon. In fact due to an order glitch it appears I currently have 2 iPhone X orders in progress with Verizon. 1 256GB Space Gray and 1 256GB Silver. I'm just hoping there are no issues and at least one of them arrives to me on Nov. 3rd. :)
i am not sure about you receiving it on the 3rd If i am not mistaken the 3rd is actually the day they will be mailing them out.

Phone has shipped and tracking information has a delivery date of the 3rd. Actually could have been delivered by today if it wasn't for the shipper (Apple) requesting a specific delivery date.

A good majority of the wireless headphones that are over the ear or noise cancelling all have battery life at 30 hours or more. As with any device before traveling, I always make sure to top them off before leaving that day whether it's my phones, tablets, headphones, other gaming devices, etc. Not that difficult to do.

It's amazing to me how some people are so stubborn to change just because they are used to something for tens of years. I switched to wireless headphones once the headphone jack was removed and wouldn't want to ever go back to wired headphones again. So nice to not have a cord dangling around to get caught on something. Then there is the fact that I can put my phone down and walk several hundred feet away while still having a great connection with the W1 chip.

Apple is definitely behind when it comes to the bezel less display and moving to OLED. I tried a Samsung Galaxy a few years ago and that OLED display was gorgeous, made the iPhone look terrible in comparison. I'm glad that they have finally caught up in that regard.

The only major game changer on the X will be FaceID and we'll see how that works in real world examples but I could see it being the way all phone companies move to over the next few years, especially if they can refine the tech like they've done with TouchID.

Oh I'd be delighted to have wireless headphones and a phone with wireless capabilities when my $350 wired headphones die...And a port.

But limiting options by taking away the port is a money grab presented as progress.

And many are falling for it.

Let us know how you like it. I'll wait a month or 2 to get mine. Rule #1 with electronics, never ever get the first batch. Too many bugs. After a couple no the they'll have the hardware and software bugs worked out and updates to help fix them.

And I'm dying to get back into apple and run as fast and as far away from android as possible. Last iPhone was a 3gs when I switched to the galaxy s4 for only one reason....the bigger screen. Have had the s5 and now s7 and have hated using them everyday.

Interesting...The X might end up being a great phone but your experience is just about the opposite of most people I know and what I hear in the Tech world.
