I would like to start a one stop shop thread on "how-to's" to do when one purchases a used PPV. I am about to purchase a 15 in the next few days and plan on doing a full refresher on it when i have time. If anyone can help out and tag threads on these how-to's that would be great! Oil change, trans fluid and filter change, diff fluid changes and so on. I will also be doing engine and cabin filters. Anything else you guys can think of would be helpful? thanks!

You listed good things. Running some Seafoam in the engine/Fuel system and a new fuel filter will make a BIG difference in performance also !!

And I would look at Brakes/Calipers, Alignment and shocks aswell.

Run the VIN # at your local STEALERship and see what has been done and if any open recalls.

il be going to run the VIN at the dealer today. I was really worried about the A/C issue but did not see any residue where the leaks have been noticed.

I already threw a bottle of techron through the system and will be ordering the fuel filter soon!

So just an update.

Drained an refilled the diff with mobil 1 75w-90

The dealer replaced all pads and rotors, but I have the dreaded ppv squeak. So I ordered RAYBESTOS front EHT1367AH
RAYBESTOS rear EHT1707H
Pads.

Installed katzkin leather, center console, tinted windows, installed 3rd row seat and cargo box.

Soon I will Be getting the spotlight holes filled and painted.

How does the center console mount in these? The old ones had those brackets that went over the studs for the front seats and under the seats themselves. The 2015+ consoles have no brackets, and have holes on the side.

There are 4 threaded holes in the floor pan where the console lines up and you can bolt in

I am trying to get the dash board trim pieces under the actual controls off and can't figure out what size bolts are way deep in there above the cigarette charger port. I've shoved all different sockets in there and nothing is catching.

Definitely not as easy as a 07-14, which just slides in and bolts

I started at 8 millimeter and went up, it's a 7mm what a bastard bolt size

LOOKS GOOD
Did you upgrade the steering wheel? (Audio controls)
And did you find the connections for the center console rear climate controls? Because I can't?

Yea it's a steering wheel from an LT.

And for the center console, no the rear climate control I have not hooked up. The harness coming down from the dash in a ppv is different than a civilian one. I have the basics hooked up in the console lighter and USB in front and rear.

How difficult or easy was the steering wheel upgrade? Was there new wiring or a new harness required for the audio controls?

Simple, there's a video on YouTube somewhere on a new Silverado, same steering wheel. It uses factory wiring

Found a good deal on a door panel on eBay so I jumped on it. My original had the speaker grill broken, couple of scrapes and the upper pet had the dreaded sticky mess.
