Last week I picked up the truck from the body shop after a new paint job. Every panel was flaking paint, so it needed to be done. A bit of overspray in places, but it looks almost new.

Yesterday I replaced the loose idler arm and bracket with Moog, and attempted the pitman arm. A puller, impact wrench, hammer, breaker bar, and blowtorch couldn't get that thing off. I'm probably going to have to take it somewhere.

Today I replaced the sway bar end links and brackets with Energy Suspension polyurethanes.

Tomorrow, I'll be replacing the brakes and rotors with Powerstops, and next weekend will be the inner and outer tie rods, all 4 ball joints (all Moog), and if I have time, the upper and lower control arm bushings (Energy polyurethane).

Man, I'm sore.


Snapped a few while working today.

First time doing a brake and rotor job. Not too bad, worst parts were figuring out you have to compress the piston to even get it out of the bracket and then snapping my breaker bar on the last bracket bolt. Had to use a wrench in a pipe to finish the job. Just finished the instructions for breaking in the pads, and the increased stopping performance is definitely noticeable.

Anyways, here are the pics.

Polyurethane sway bar end links. Super easy to install. Compression looks a bit odd in the pic because I've got it up on jacks.

did the evap solenoid, charcoal canister and ended up having to lower the tank and blow out the vent lines. but after doing that it seems to be working properly again.

What color were the hids? If they were 6000k you might get away 5000k
Nope, they were 10K bulbs when I bought it last year (and the dealer's inspector passed them), but I didn't like the super bright blue color. I swapped them out with 4300k bulbs for a warm OEM color shortly after I got it. It was their mere presence that is a fail. I was told that HID bulbs are only allowed if they were designed and installed by the manufacturer.

That actually makes a lot of sense, I'll keep it in mind for next time lol

There's only a handful of plastic rivers that hold it in place. I have a 3in body lift that is part of my setup and a couple months back when I changed out my exhaust manifold gaskets, it made it a breeze (even with the two bolts that broke off in the heads lol). It just opens up the area exponentially.
From plugs, headers, steering shafts, to the washer res. or even the horns and everything in between it's just another option you have to help ease the process.

Here's some of my passenger side when I change out my gaskets and had to extract broken exhaust manifold bolts lol. It's just such an ease of access.
