Interesting

So for $750 you get the module/radio touchscreen?

Or is that just an interface?

Few more questions

1. Can your stream Bluetooth?
2. Can you make phone calls from it?
3. Will my factory backup camera work with it?

Hey guys, new to the forum. I saw this as my first thread and wanted to add a little something to it. I bought my wife a 2015 Tahoe, but it came with everything but a 8" screen(weird i03). I contacted MVI and they supplied me with everything needed to do the install. Took me about two hours to do so, and that included soldering everything and making it look factory. I have my own Jeep Srt8 that I do my own work on, but could not deal with that little $hitty screen. It does everything that the factory would have supplied. The harnesses they make are super clean. The YouTube video makes it easy as well. I took pictures for them so that they could use them for other people that are not as skilled to help understand.

My wife uses BT and streams music. I opted not to get the NAV because the iphone does the trick. I regret not getting the upgrade so I can mirror my phone onto the 8" screen. MVI had shipped me all the necessary parts, but somewhere in shipping the screen had gotten a broken tab. They were quick to send me a replacement. Good guys a very responsive, via TEXT ONLY. The calls took a day or two to get back to me, but it was nothing every technical.

This is great to hear, Pittz!!! I'm really glad Anthony finally decided to put something together for us I03 owners. Though for me, about two years too late.

Question for you - how did you replace the HMI? Or did you have to replace the HMI? And which one did you have to replace - the one behind the glovebox, or the one in the center console below the radio?

When you have some time, can you post some pictures or point us in the direction of where to find them? I'd love to see how it turned out. I don't see anything on MVI's website.

Disregard on the pictures, Pittz. I just found the video Anthony's YouTube channel.

This is VERY good news for those wanting to upgrade from the I03 to I05/6 with the factory finish!!!

I have the full video. they email it to you when you purchase their kit. It is a very easy install. I know it's a little too late, but for the guys that currently have it, or may end up purchasing one will now know they have the option. I could barely see what wires they tied into, so that is why I took pictures. The video does a good enough job to get you through it. I took pictures of each harness and what wire to solder into.

I went with the basic I05 system, but well worth the money. I have a base model LS, but it has leather/20" wheels/rear DVD. I was confused when i saw the 3" screen.

Sorry guys, been busy. I spent $1,100 on the wiring harness/HMI/OEM screen. It was worth every penny to have the OEM look and functions. I think for another $100 or so I could have had more features. The screen alone was about $500. i am not sure how much the HMI cost, but the wiring harness was $200 plus range.

I already had Bluetooth, but it was only two wires to tap into above the glove box. That is where the OnStar module sits.

This was without NAV. I think it was a little bit more. I know the only thing that would need to be added was an antenna and programming, which would have been very easy. The HMI with NAV has one additional port. No need for NAV when you have cell phones. I honestly wish I would have done the phone mirroring. It can be added, but I will wait.

Pittz - did you by chance add CarPlay? If not, do you know how much it would cost to upgrade to CarPlay? Thanks!

I do not have it. If I am reading the website correctly, it is $850. I am not sure if it would be cheaper since I have some of the harnesses already. I have been texting them a lot about various things. i may ask them how much it would be to add it now.

Unfortunately, the screen has gone blank and I have no power. I moved the vehicle for my wife and know for a fact that it worked because I needed to use the back up camera. She went to go drive it and told me that the screen was blank. I unhooked the battery, but still nothing. The dash/cluster just says "audio off". The motorized screen still goes up and down.

I am thinking it is a connection in the back somewhere, but unlikely. I am being hopeful!! I soldered, tapped, and zip tied everything together. The MVI guys were quick to respond and will do whatever it takes to get it working again. I find it just weird it worked flawlessly for a few weeks, then NOTHING. It could be the screen. If it is the HMI module, I know I can count on the MVI guys to send another. They sent me another screen rather quickly.

I tested all the power leading to the modules and head unit, all good. I have everything boxed and ready to ship back. I am thinking a module took a crap. I put everything back to stock until they get me new stuff back. They want to test everything themselves to see whats wrong.

If it happens again, I will ask for a refund. I can not keep taking apart my wife's dash. I checked fuses and grounds. They indicated it might be wiring, but I soldered everything like I have always done. Never any issues, plus it stopped working suddenly. I had power to the head unit, but nothing on the screen. We shall see!!

Unfortunately they are blaming it on my wiring. I refuse to believe that it worked perfectly for three weeks, then all of a sudden it just stopped working. I did nothing different from my day to day activities. I sent both modules and the head unit back for testing. They did bench testing and told me nothing was wrong with the modules. I will now have to take out all of the wiring and re-solder everything, per their instructions. I have soldered a ton of wiring, to include motorcycles and cars. I just installed my supercharger on my Jeep Srt8. I am no rookie. I do it very clean and professional.

Per their instructions, I will do what they ask, but if this happens again I will be asking for a full refund. Their web site says 1 year warranty and a 7 day return policy, but I will fight it need be with my credit card company.

They have been cool on shipping everything back and forth, but i was told that my purchase from them was a wash because of the back and forth. The first screw up was not my fault. The broken tab on the head unit was due to their packaging. We shall see how it goes after I do everything over again. I want it to work, but I am not sure if the truck is liking the change.

I have a 2016 Suburban at work that they threw a aftermarket head unit into, with a aftermarket harness. The dash cluster says the same thing when it started going out... "audio off". The only difference is that if I unhook the battery, it comes back on. I just think that the Tahoe is not liking the aftermarket harness that MVI provides.

I have power to the head unit, but nothing is coming on the screen.
