I've heard others with this problem and it was the switch in the rear hatch. Probably needs to be replaced.

I just thought I'd suggest that because when I bought my 08 I swear the previous owners never opened the hatch...ever. There was so much dirt and road grime there you wouldn't believe it. LOL

What these guys said, closing your drivers door causes pressure lifting the hatch a **** hair so the switch is prob on its way or needs adjusting, if possible. Also driving along hitting a bump or something same situ, hatch comes up a bit...my 2cnts

exactly it does it when drivers or passenger door shuts and when i hit bumps but if i slam it hard it fixes it for a while.... is the switch a expensive and or tough part to replace...?

I cant imagine it being that expensive and you probably have to remove the interior panel, maybe a few screws and an electrical connection......but.......and that's a big but...... while youre in there i spray everything up with electric contact cleaner, wd-40, something like that and see if you can move the latch mechanism up or down or sideways or something and see if its any better.....before u buy the thing.

......wait a minute, on my 01 tahoe with barn doors there were contacts somewhere, maybe up top, with copper terminals and i had to clean them off because of the grime from daily driving.....it wouldn't let the door lock...i wonder if u have thise same kinda contacts with the lift gate that just need to be cleaned up.......just a thought... anything like this on yours? If not prob integrated into the latch....
