In lieu of my overwhelming satisfaction with my gmt 800 vehicles and the fact that this is my wifes daily, and we are taking it on about a 2500 mile trip in Mar-Apr so time for some much needed tlc......On black friday I placed a order for NEW LEATHER!! for my front seats color smoke looks to be closest match for oem at leastherseats.com, new seat heaters top and bottom for both seats and a new bottom "dura foam" cushion from the seat shop, OEM replacement upper cushion( that has been discontinued, not sure how long) from ebay, and last but not least NEW CARPET!! from stockinteriors.com in ebony ( looks to be a close match to the dark 2 tone color on the top of the dash and door panel inserts....

I plan on gutting the interior and cleaning it up, finding a decent quality/price sound deadener, and possibly replacing some door seals to quieten the road noise....
And by no means am I endorsing any of these companies, all I will say is I purchased each product from the cheapest company I knew about.

Any pointers are appreciated on the seats/carpet/sound deadening

New seat cover looks great. What kind of pointers do you need?

I did my driver seat cover, full carpet replacement and decided to do the headliner at the same time since I had the interior gutted and all the trim pieces were out. Also deleted my OnStar antenna while I was in there and painted the overhead fittings a little darker to match the slightly darker headliner (A/C vents and dome lights, etc...) just to give you some ideas while you have everything ripped apart.

Here's some pics of what it looks like in my 06 build thread.

Wow thanks, it looks really good, I decided to go with the ebony to try and match the dash.Alot of good info, I was able to get the front seat bolts and nuts without the special sockets, I used 12 point sockets don't remember the front size right now, but other than being tight gave me no issues. How is the paint on your trim pieces holding up, I need to toch up the dash and a few panels, but I thought you needed special paint.

Here's a thread on the dash. There are many others. SEM seems to be the recommended product and always good prep work is key. Clean, clean and adhesion promoter.

My headliner parts are still looking good. The only place I noticed an issue was the visor clip where the visor slides in to hold it in place. Perhaps I did not do a good enough job of prep. But I am happy with the change to match the darker headliner.

I was wondering if you think you could just replace the seat heater. My 04 escalade's driver side heated seat started acting up it turns on them turns it self off and recently i tried it and it stayed on and started heating but then I smelled what I thought was burning plastic, haven't tried it since. Nice interior by the way

Thank you, I'm going to give that a try. It's the only thing I can understand being wrong with it.

Yessir. That is some bad looking carpet. Looks pretty much like mine did when I changed it out.
