Well, although I didn't get to claim my HD hood today, I did happen to come across a 2003 suburban that had it's stock 6 disc changer in it still. Which I needed the display from since mine was broken in a fit of rage... Long story short. So, I frankensteined my stock radio and presto changeo, display works now.
Also, my steering column cover has been unable to lock down on the left side since my truck was stolen. Well, I finally came across a 03 sierra today that still had its cover intact.

All in all not a bad day. It's the little things.

    $10.35

So over the past two days, I gave the Tahoe the "new" car maintenance it deserved:
    - Trans fluid + filter
    - Rear brake pads + 1 seized caliper
    - Front and rear differential fluid
    - Spark plugs
    - Greased all Zerk fittings
    - Toyed around with the dimmer switch, gauge cluster and rear window regulator

No pretty picture, but here's a screen cap of the vlog style video I'll put together on my YouTube channel

My headliner fabric is coming loose from the fiberglass or whatever it is. Any suggestions for a good fabric glue for it?

so we went to fill it up again on saturday and same problem with the pump clicking off.

learn from my mistake and dont think you can just disconnect a few lines while the tank is lowered without disconnecting everything. just take it all the way out the first time and clean the hoses.

wife and i did that sunday. dropped it out, blew out all the lines (and got a LOT of charcoal out again) until they were flowing substantial air out. reinstalled and it filled up like a dream.

what an annoying problem. plus side is i discovered i can now completely remove the gas tank and reinstall in 90 minutes on my back in the driveway.

Just to a regular mechanic. He used to work for GM, and was actually sent to school to learn all the electronic and tech 2 crap. I hope he wasn't bs'ing me! I just hope he can figure it out. I've talked to him quite a few times and he always sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I guess we will see.

3m or permatex in the orange can. Don't do it while the truck sits in the sun. Roof should be cool to the touch. Spray both sides--inner material of headliner and the board itself. Let them tack up, then flatten it down. I use the plastic spatula you use to spread bondo. Works like a charm.
