I have in my truck now part # 16187556 and there is a 4 digit # below that I have 7070.

I have 2 spare MAP sensors from the junk yard all with the same #16187556 but the 4 digit numbers for those are 7252 and 6304

Can someone here take at look at their truck and tell me what numbers are on your map sensor? I'd greatly appreciate it. I think I have the wrong one installed.

thanks

I have a 1997 chevy tahoe 4x4 LS 5.7

I would thing the 4 digit numbers have something to do with manufacturing and (time, date, location , etc) the larger number is the part number

The hole that the rubber seal is on is a different size on the 2 extra i have. So that 4 digit number i think is not a date code. All 3 have the number 16187556 but all of them have different 4 digit numbers.

I asked if someone can read the numbers on your truck.

fine, here is a picture of one i installed late last year.

ignore the set of 4 digits it serves you in no way what so ever.

Ok what explains the different size hole between the both of them but the same part number and same manufacturer? One would let more air in.

Look at the attached pictures same numbers different size holes.

I also looked up that number 16187556 number on Ebay and lots of listings said it wasnt compatible with my truck only the 2 door.

nope I was expecting that comment too:) It's slightly dirty not gummed up. I took a pick and poked it in he hole and wiped it with a rag. the holes are certainly different in size.

unknown at this time.
it is a design change. stop worrying. and no you do not need to replace it unless it is malfunctioning.

by the way if one of those pictured went back on the engine take it off and replace the ribbed rubber grommet. if torn enough it creates false reading because of a very minor leak.

Who is worrying? I am making sure I have the correct map sensor installed simple as that. Don't worry about what I'm "worrying" about. I asked a question. I changed the map sensor before and not sure if I have one from the junk yard in or the one that came with the truck. I might have put one in from the junk yard back when the engine was running rough. I noticed the numbers were different so I figured i ask.

Also you don't need to get into details explaining things other then what I asked...I have been working on cars for close to 20 years now and practically rebuilt my whole Tahoe.

I know about the rubber grommet. Gotta love the internet you ask one question and people assume you know nothing and want explain other things:party52:

So in closing the 4 digit numbers are just a manufacturer date got it.
