Ive been a long time lurker, i finally decided to make a post
I bought my 1st Tahoe back in 2014 and it stayed stock for about a year when i got the bright idea to body drop it. Truck was my pride and joy until 6 months after me getting it back on the road she went down in flames. was a sad sad day for me.
At the time i was working at a shop called AllStar customs, there i built a 3/4 frame using a nbs silverado front clip so i could have rack and pinion steering. I also had another 5.3l that i was building for a body dropped s10 that i was building. I had rebuilt the motor and installed a cam and a few other small upgrades.
And then the tragic day came. Long story short rear rotor locked up and cought fire by the time i pulled over and tried to put it out it was to late. The fire spread to my fuel lines and wiring harness. so once that happened all i could do was stand by and watch her burn.
after they put the fire out we got the truck hauled home. few days later we cut the body off and i hauled it to the scrap yard got 50$ for it lol. i was able to salvage 3 wheels the frame and the running gear. i sold off the frame to help build me a shop at the house. The motor is sitting in a nissan hardbody that im building now
Since then ive had a big void in my heart that i couldnt fill until i bought another one.
So one Sunday i went and looked at this Tahoe and pulled the trigger. its an 03, has long tubes a nnbs intake and a tune. Very Very clean on the inside. it had a horrible exhaust setup on it so 1st thing i did was take it and have a full 3'' exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler put on. sounds sooo much better. I also pulled "MYHOE" off the sides lol.
I plan to ditch the esky roof rack and the esky 3rd brake light. drop it a little more and just make a clean daily driver/work truck
