05 Denali steering feels loose and there is obvious play in steering.
The whole front end was rebuilt/replaced this spring including all ball joints and tie rods (new), upper and lower control arms new bushings pressed in, idler and pitman arm(new). Aligned right after. New tires all the way around. From the start the Denali has obvious play while sitting still and have someone rocking steering wheel and it appears to be within the gearbox itself. The Denali pulls to the right also. It doesnt make a dive right but it will wander quickly to the right on all roads. Steering wheel must be held almost at 11 oclock to go straight down the road but as you get moving highway speeds you can rock steering wheel and find a happy place at 12 oclock and its slower to wander.
Where to start? Adjust at gearbox (small 1/8 turn CW at a time) or possibly in steering shaft too? This Denali does have 301K now and I know zero history on it other than what ive done to it.
