Went to replace my fuel pressure regulator and vacuum line..
The one I ordered from rock auto (ACDELCO 2173299 + vacuum line GM 17113556) were not correct.
This one had the port on the side and didn't notice til I went to swap I have a port on the top side. The vacuum line with (2) 90 degree bends looks discontinued also.
Does anyone know if I can run the flex fuel version without issue, as that seems to be the only part numbers I can find that look like the right fit for my vehicle.
I ordered a ACDELCO 217-1582 as the image looks identical to what I pulled out.

Will update tomorrow when i try and install it

Looks like there are a few different fuel pressure regulators..
One for an engine with "T" in the VIN
One for an engine with "Z" in the VIN
and one for Flex fuel.

It looks like there are silver regulators with a vacuum port on the side, silver regulators with port on the top, and black regulators with port on the top.
ACDelco 2173299 is silver with a port on the side.
ACDelco 2171582 is silver with a port on top.
ACDelco 17113700 is black with a port on top.

The first one i ordered was silver with port on the side, it definitely will not fit. I ordered a silver with port on top, but may return it and swap for the black one, as everywhere mentions it's for a flex fuel version. The construction looks the same, but color is different.
If anyone has any experience or can help me match part numbers to be 100% sure that would be awesome.

Based on the VIN in your signature yours is a VIN 'Z' -- 8th digit -- which is Flex Fuel. That's the L59 engine unless it's been swapped out. Buy the FF regulator; it shouldn't differ from the VIN Z regulator, or is that what you're seeing?

FF regulator (FPR) is mounted horizontally and the port comes straight out the side. The vacuum hose has a molded 90° on the end.

EDIT: also note that the FF pump produces more volume at slightly less pressure, so it's important to use the correct FPR for your application. I haven't seen the vacuum hoses anywhere, so you may need to hit up the junkyard for a replacement.

@915_Tahoe Rene, do you have a part number for the vacuum line to the FPR (green arrows in pic) on an '04 Tahoe 5.3L Flex Fuel? Last 8 of VIN 4R199261. I'm sure it's discontinued but would like to see if we can find one with the OE part number. Thank you!

Does that line have a leak or is that just a dent at those arrows?

Man I have been driving my truck for 12 years and had no idea I had a flex fuel model, I feel like an idiot, but I guess until now it hasn't mattered.
The picture you provided is exactly what mine looks like.
I have both GM 17113700 and ACDelco 2171582 FPR's being delivered.
Based on your post today I will try to install the silver ACDelco 217-1582, and return the other
Thanks
