So I love in Kannapolis NC and it died on me in Hendersonville NC. Place called Top Notch Towing has it. Said they had to charge it up to get it to do anything and when they turn the key they one click and nothing else. So they put a bar on the crank and tried to turn the crank and it wouldn't budge so that's why they told me the motor is locked up.

Mine did that a while back, turned out to be electrical. Alternator wasn't charging the battery and my voltage regulator went out.
So I have had problems with when it sits for a couple days it has to be jumped. If the voltage regulator was on the way out, would it cause that and then it finally went out and caused the truck to die like that? Or is there still a bigger under lying issue?

In my experience, it could be a bad alternator. Essentially, the alternator seizes. Had that happen on a Crown Victoria once. The only warning I got was slowly decreasing mpg and then it failed.

I did notice my mpg sucked big time after I put a new alternator in about 6 months ago. Put a 250 amp in it and new battery due to the battery drain I was getting

A seized alternator could prevent them from turning the motor over with the serpentine belt still attached.
What would cause the alternator to just seize like that though? Not saying that you're wrong by any means, I'm just curious

Well, the alternator has a bearing and that could've gone south. Same with the power steering and air conditioning compressor. I've had them seize over the years and prevent the motors from turning over with the belts on tight. Notice I said belts, it's been a long time for me!
