Hey everyone,

So I just purchased an 07 Tahoe. It has the police package ( leather back seat, fluffy front seats, no console, vinyl floors ect.) my questions are as follow...

I want to purchase a leather front seat with the built in console ( makes the bench ) will a regular seat from say a wrecked 07 fit in here with no issues?

Putting 22 inch transport wheels on it this week. Anyone ever ran transport steelies before? Pros/ cons?

Is there anything anyone has ran into with these vehicles that maybe I need a heads up on?

There's a few threads on here about PPV's , unfortunately I don't have one , so I'm unfamiliar with them.
Nice ride .Those are the wheels I've been looking for with no luck. Good luck with it .

Thank god someone answered. I was starting to think there were no answers.

Well I am trying to find out if the horror stories are true about lowering it more than its factory lowered and I can't find anywhere that tells me how much they one factory lowered. I am looking at putting 22" steelies on it but I don't want to have to replace sway bars and invest a ton on the underside to lower it more.

I just purchased new front seats and a regular console to install this evening after I find the appropriate bolts.

My door speakers are plugged in but do not work, only the high front ones and high rears work. I read there is a factory amp that controls that, that there are wires under the dash that control that and I have also read I need new speakers?

I ordered a clicker from eBay and found instructions on how to program it myself. I'm hoping anyway. ( remote start and lock and unlock)

Anything you have ran into would be amazing to know. I have googled until I think my eyes are going to fall out.

The only concern I have about lowered GM vehicles is "How do you re adjust the pinion angle (driveshaft to rear end) to compensate for the geometry change by lowering the vehicle? I would think you would be going through pinion seals like mad, also extended stress on the u joints and slip yoke.

On the 4th gen Camaro's, there are aftermarket companies that sell adjustable torque arms, that allow you to compensate for the vehicle being lowered. A lot of times the "pinion angle" is set incorrectly (but within tolerance) from the factory. Ask Sara (2001 Z28 not lowered), she came from the factory with a +2 degree pinion angle, I had it adjusted down to -1, she is a lot happier now with no rear end noise.

I'm new here, and I apologize for the long reply, and these are the only 2 lowered tahoes I have any experience with. Maybe we have both just gotten lucky but I think with the miles that says a lot. I just wanted to give you my thoughts on the ride of the softer spring/firmer spring between ours because I know I was personally concerned with the usability of a lowered full size suv. I believe air helpers will help my ride quality ten fold, and may possibly ride better than his '08 does.

I don't personally have a PPV, but I lowered my buddies 08 PPV roughly 2" up front and 4 in the back 4 years ago. It has around 250k on the clock now with about 40k of that being dropped, all factory parts and it's still going like new, and he is definitely not one to baby it :rotflmao: Maybe he has just gotten lucky, but my nbs has the same drop height with 280k on the clock and I have been lowered for about 35k no problems with pinion seals/u joints either. Both of the rears are just on springs with the free travel mod, no upgraded trac bar or torque arms.

His '08 has a noticeable difference in ride, it feels much more planted and firm around turns (maybe its just in my head because its lowered, but I really like the handling). I am not sure what springs are in the rear, but his are noticeably stiffer than my springs ( I believe mine are djm, but it has been so long I am not 100% on that).
I know my NBS has torsion bars instead of coils up front, but the rears are practically set up the same. Mine rides considerably softer than his, on small bumps it is great, but mild-large ones are hell.
I am not sure what springs he is running (bought them off of c-list, possibly eibach from looking at pics). The best thing I can compare the ride of his '08 to a 2500 truck. The ride of his '08 is enjoyable, and overall the ride of his is very usable and comfortable ride for a daily imo.

Where's the pics with the 22" transport wheels?
