yukon runs great, in spite of temporary voltage drops. Can't find any problem anywhere.

My 2007 Denali 6.2 runs great! But, at some point during any 10 miles or so, the battery light comes on, and the volt reading appears to drop to about 13. Light is on for a few seconds, less than a minute, then goes off.

It does this with full a/c on or off, lights on or off, etc.

About 8 months ago, the alternator started giving constant low readings, and the battery died. I put in a new battery and new alternator, and have had no problems until now, with the warning light.

Vehicle has no hesitant starting or acceleration, no dimming of lights, nothing to indicate a weak battery or alternator. Just the little warning light. Alternator was checked yesterday, gave 14.3 to 14.5 at warm idle.

Is this just a gauge problem?

Possible. Might get one of those plug in LED voltage gauges, plugs in to the power plug/cigarette lighter. Pretty handy to have around.

When you replaced the battery and alternator, did you inspect/replace the battery cables as well? These cable rot from the inside out, so simply looking at the nice insulation cover does not guarantee that the wires are good. Check the resistance.

Also, did you check the ground strap connection from the motor to the firewall to ensure that both ends are clean and tight?
