Yukon Denali sits real low.

Hey guys, I just bought a 2010 Yukon Denali about a month ago and now started to notice that my Yukon sits a lot lower than other Yukons. I first didn't notice this because the dealer that I bought it from put 24 inch wheels on the car and I thought the wheel to fender gap was appropriate. But after I lined up next to another Yukon my side mirrors were a good inch to 2 inches lower then the Yukon next to me. My first thought was that the previous owner lowered the car but the shocks look OEM, and so do the springs. I know I never heard my compressor running for autoride suspension for the rear so I thought that maybe the compressor was bad so I jumpered it out at the relay but the compressor came on and pumped up my back quit a bit until I let the relay go. I shut the car off and let it sit for a little and it didn't seem to bleed the air. But the front suspension still sat really low. So I started the car and it immediately started bleeding the rear suspension and it's now back to where it was. I'm assuming that the back is sitting so low because it's trying to level it with the front, but then why is my front so low? Could my shocks be blown already in the front. The car only has 88k miles. I have an active recall on the car so when I go in for that I'll ask the dealer to look into the suspension and see what's going on, but in the meantime does anyone know what this could be. And how can I know if the previous owner put lowering springs on, because the ride isn't the smoothest, especially with the low profile tires on the 24's. Thanks in advance.

Those look like 22s not 24s. But hard to gauge from the photo.

Looks like a typical 2/3 drop to me

If you personally can't tell by crawling underneath of it and looking around snap some pics underneath of your suspension and post them up. We will be able to help you out.

Also, what brand of tires are you running. That could be a reason for your ride quality or it could be a result of the parts that the previous owner used to lower it. We won't know until we see pics, though.

People often retain factory Autoride when doing a mild drop on these, so it is very possible that your truck was lowered on OEM shocks. The rear springs appear to be a lot newer/shinier than the parts around them, don't they? That would suggest it's been lowered.

If you can, take a picture of your rear autoride sensor links. We should be able to tell fairly easily if they've been shortened.

The front could be spindles, look for a brand stamp on there somewhere or take a few pictures of the hub with your wheel off from different angles.

Hey sorry for not responding for a while, I was real busy at work. But this morning I took the Yukon to Les Schwab and asked them to take a look, and they said that the shocks, springs, and hub are all factory. Then he told me that some Yukons have a sport package and they come from the factory lower. (Not sure if that's true or not.) And also he said that it could be that my front struts are bad even though they couldn't find any sign of any leaks. He said that the only way they would truly know is if they replaced the front electric struts, which would set me back $1,500. Any thoughts on these findings?

Struts being good or bad will not change ride height, only ride quality (dampening ability). The only ones that come lower from the factory are 2x4 and police pursuit vehicles.

Do this ^^^ and let us know. I'm pretty sure the rear has shock extension brackets on it? Hard to tell

^^^this....also if you notice that emergency brake line that is tight against that rear shock....that only happens when the vehicle is lowered and utilizing shock extension brackets. Overall, whoever you took your vehicle to doesn't seem to know what he's looking at. If you have the time and ability I'd suggest taking off one front wheel and taking a pic and posting it up. We should be able to tell pretty quick if you've got drop spindles up front or not.

Ok so I just took off front and rear wheel and snapped some pics.

Here is a picture of the hub brand.

Here is a picture of the front autoride sensor/linkage.

And here's a picture of the rear autoride sensor/linkage. I looked at pictures online and don't think it's supposed to be bent like this. Both rear linkages are bent in that angle.

#1. that's not the hub. That's the spindle
#2. that spindle is a McGuaghy's drop spindle. Most likely 2" drop

What I'm saying is the front has been lowered with spindles and is most likely 2". Without a part number or something we won't know 100% for sure on the exact amount but most likely 2". The springs and shocks on the front look stock. The rear looks like it was most likely dropped with 2" drop springs (COULD be 4" drop in back but I would be surprised by that) with the shock relocator brackets so you can still run stock shocks.

Ok so if I were to install the original spindle on the front and original springs and shock re locator bracket in the rear, then I'd have factory ride height?

yes, stock spindle in front is all you'd need there.

for back just need stock rear springs and remove shock relocator bracket

Then you'd be back at stock height. Not sure what you'd need to do with the autoride links (if anything).

Ok, one more question. Would this affect the ride quality of my car any? Cuz that would be my only reason to go back to factory height.

It looks great at the height it's at.... I would not change a thing,well maybe just level the front so it matches the back.. Looks like the back sits higher an inch or two
