Holy crap what a difference. I have zero static and my minimal ground noise has vanished completely. I'm having a friend fabricate a trim panel since that's what he does all day and I don't have the tools anymore, will post pics once I get that done along with sound deadening my doors. I can't believe how much cleaner it sounds with only an 8 band eclipse eq. Should sound even better with the doors deadened and the dual batteries wired up, swear I have different speakers in the truck now I've never heard this kind of dynamic range from them before :rocking:

I think I'm going to start to purchase stuff for a dual battery. I want to get that out of the way, since I like to be outside and listen to my music alot.

No idea, probably just a bezel and trim out the edges of the stock piece a bit. I'm sure it will look good, he's a perfectionist so I'm sure it will be sweet when completed.

Hey, I know what you mean about the EQ. I have always ran an EQ with any of my systems. It makes a world of difference. I even got my boy running the same Clarion EQ as mine.

Dropped off my dash panel and eq trim piece at my boy's shop friday, should have it back monday or sometime next week. He's plastic welding the trim piece, then bondo, then paint. Should turn out pretty sharp, will post pics when I get it all in. This should tide me over until I get the rest of the stereo sorted out with a w505 2din, delete the dic, buy the imprint sound processing, and mold in a wideband o2 monitor.

i have a 2000 yukon with the cassete player toward the bottom of the console. what size is it, 1 din or 1/2 din and are there any kits out there that i can use to fit a 1/2 din 8 band eq in it? also how difficult is it to hook one up?

Pretty easy to hook up but it depends on what kind of eq you use. I haven't seen the cassette decks in awhile so I couldn't tell you what size, if I had to guess it's 1/2 din or 1/2 the size of your standard head unit.

I traded him some sway disconnects, eq was free. Easy hookup just tap a few wires and run a dedicated ground. I may end up running the sub off the deck and only running highs through the eq since it doesn't make much difference for my lows. No more bright ridiculous tweeters tho, I might buy a bigger amp for the fronts now too.
